Being blind does not heighten your other senses, it just makes you more aware.
Also, some blind people can use sonar or something along the lines like dolphins or bats by making clicking sounds with their tongues to tell where things are. I have no idea how this works, but I saw a news report on it and it showed a blind kid roller blading down the street doing it.
I'm pretty sure it's on YouTube. I thought it was damn amazing.

yea but i guess you right. it maybe that our brain is being used on the heart, nose, ear, eyes ect. therefore they are using the brain more on all pother parts due to no eyesight. in simple terms. We dont pay much attention to our senses but our eyes bcuz its the most important =)

she can have a (very) small % of vision,allowing her to notice blurry forms in front of her,so she can avoid obstacles.

well they say deaf people can feel even slight things normal can't feel ^^ so maybe blind people have ears like animals? Animals hear evrything 10times harder then people so maybe blind people to??

There was a girl like that at my previous school.
It could be because she isn't completely blind(which had been stated, I know, without looking > _ >).
She might be able to see shadows or blurs or something.
Also, when someone comes at you swinging a cane at shin level, you tend to get out of the way.

wow thats really amazing, wonder how that kid in youtube will do in kung fu? anyway, the brain of ours has alot of % using motion and thinking, known as the pink cells, pink cells are always active, if an organ stops moving then the pink cell got nothing to do, so the pick cell Increases sences, though this is just a theory, i'm not that good in biology
