    Default F2s

I'm 20 years old, I've owned my own gaming computer ever since I paid over $200 to put a Geforce 5200 in a old Compaq with a 4x slot. Playing Helbreath and Ragnarok Online mostly.

People want things for free, for nothing. I give you nothing, you give me something. This is unbalanced, and theirs a certain mathematical anime show that coined a law that is broken in this request, equivalent exchange. You give me something, I give you something. You give me a game, I feed your family.

I don't know whether its the younger generation now, the loss of morality, the economic situation alot of us face, but everyone wants everything for free now. So here goes the best shot at it so far. F2P. I refuse to even call any game free thats legal. Because its NOT. Money has to be made, licenses for the game, development for the game (but none who develops a F2P game is stupid enough to try to host it, they just throw it DOWN the ladder)

The "F2P" model simply allows you to do play a watered down version of a game, trial ware. They then sell the ability to outperform people who refuse to pay to those who actually can and will, supporting those who play for free, but also giving them superiority. Why is this so accepted? I fight with it everytime I see a game I would love to play, but see two ugly words and just keep going "Item Shop" I know as soon as I see them words, I better be willing to blow hundreds of dollars to compete, or just go home.

My biggest problem with Free 2 Suck? Its not progressive, its depressive of the gaming community. These aren't innovative games. They arent on the cutting edge of anything. You all sit here and whine every day for a new type of game with good graphics and no "grind fest". Well, you get what you pay for.

Work 10 hours at a $7.00 job and you can afford the BEST the gaming world has to offer, or you can sit here in lingo, getting the water soaked scrap.

So what if you suck at the game? You don't have to compete with others unless it's pvp. I just enjoy the game though I'm sure many others don't have my kind of attitude towards the subject.

If I may ask, why you do you play online games if you dont plan on competeing?

I play games for fun, not to compete. (Though there are cases when I compete ^^) Though, I generally don't pvp much, there are cases where I loved pvp. (Bit Pilot, Rakion, etc) I leave the competing to sports >_> (Unless I want money for playing a game X3)

    Luca@

I agree with you in some points. But I gotta disagree when you talk about competing.

A game is just a game, really. You don't have to turn inside out because some dude got the pwnx weapon of the whole game. I mean yeah, I do also compete with people but mostly when its only in my friendcircle, u know friends irl.

It aint all about competing. I've tried almost every F2P game and I normaly dont compete with people. I try these game to find out which fits me best. When I ( sometime) find this game I'm just gonna play it, I mean I should be glad that there is even a f2p game, that I like.

The reason why people play online games is because of the community, and the fact that there is free games ( as you say so beautiful) and the fact that you can get ''friends'' online. Some people compete, but trust me I've never paid anything in a cash shop, not because of greedy, its because I havent found a game which i want to pay something for, but I'm still looking for it.

Perhaps to explore, socialize, make friends and play with others as comrades, not as enemies. Not everyone is into PvP and going against each other. I for one, play mostly to compete, thats why I prefer games such as Guild Wars.
