Well, the question simple: one or other? which is better and why? Which has more stuff, skills, quest, more to do...etc
Thx! ^^

You can't compare em much, but in terms of F2P Shaiya and Guild Wars (trial)?
GUILD WARS OWNS SHAIYA
http://pc.ign.com/articles/612/612079p1.html
I haven't really tried out Shaiya, however... I think Guild Wars could be a good choise
What I like of Guild Wars is that they don't focus on the typical "omfg leet max level". In fact, you can reach max Lv. (20) in 2 days. Guild Wars doesn't have any grinding at all (unless you want to farm, of course), since there're main quests called "Mission". Each Mission goes through the game storyline (which has cutscenes, objectives, etc.)
Each Mission has different gooals, such us... protect an important NPC while you defend the fort (Thunderhead Keep Mission), stuff like that.
Guild Wars focuses a lot in PvP; you can create PvP-only characters for those PvP fans out there. A PvP-only character has everything you have unlocked in Roleplaying, and starts in Lv. 20 right away
Guild Wars offers you an opportunity to have subjobs, which it is used to combine 2 different classes. For example: you can make a Ranger as primary (which will use Ranger-only armor) and Monk as secondary. Having Monk as secondary will grant you the ability to use Monk's spell, such as Healing, Protection, Smiting. However, each primary profession has an ability that you can't gain as a secondary profession. For example: Rangers have an ability called "Expertise" (spell?), which you can only get as Ranger primary
You can find 3 Guild Wars campaigns:
1) Guild Wars Prophecies: This campaign focus in teaching you the basics. It's the slowest campaign to reach Lv. 20. You can play as an Elementalist, Ranger, Warrior, Monk, Mesmer and Necromancer in this campaign. All those professions are called core (since you can find them in every other campaign.
2) Guild Wars Factions: This campaign focus in PvP and Alliance Battles. The leveling in this campaign is the fastest, since you can get to Lv. 20 in a single day. You can play as all the core professions and 2 extra ones, which are Assassins and Ritualists.
3) Guild Wars Nightfall: This campaign offers a lot of PvE (Roleplaying). In this campaign you can't level as fast as in Factions, but you level faster than Prophecies
In this campaign you can play as all the core professions, and 2 extra ones. Which are Dervish and Paragons.
By the way, if you have Nightfall, you can't play Assassin and/or Ritualist. If you want to play as them, you must have Factions.
Oh, and you can't start as an Assassin in Nightfall, for example. If you want your Assassin be in Nightfall, you must reach to the "Mainland", where you can take a boat to the others campaigns. (This applies to every profession)
Hope that helps you a bit
Edit: typos and added some information about creating characters in campaigns
By the way, there's another Guild Wars, which is Guild Wars: Eyes of the North. However, this is a Guild Wars expansion. That means you must have one of the previous campaigns in orders to have access to Guild Wars: Eyes of the North
Guild wars 100%, I tried Shaiya, it has remotely NOTHING on GW...
Shaiya's glow is blinding, the ******ed snow flakes are oversized and annoying and when you turn the glow off to prevent permanent blindness its the ugliest crap I've ever seen, Knight online owns it graphically, the customization blows, every female priest I seen was a freaking FF10 Yuna clone.

Like everyone above, Guild Wars is your best choice. It is actually the only game I have tried where I did not have to grind at all] to PvP.
I wasn't fond of either, but Guild Wars was by far better.
There is deep reason for it being named Guild Wars, if your going to buy it keep that in mind.
tried both, go guild wars
this is a bit of a rethorical question, no?
i would compare this question with this one:
would do you chose? the apple or the rotten orange?
well ... actually dumb question ... GW ! but if u don't want to pay anything (in Shaiya u will buy something from $$ shop .. ) So better GW !
guild wars is calling you my friend![]()

Dude... Shaiya is F2P and decent grind-based game with pretty good GFX
GW is a big series of games with a lot of classes and a lot of skills, and with much better GFX than Shaiya. And GW gets updates all the time, in fact they are realising 2 more games in the next year...
So if u got a bad economy go for Shaiya... If u get lots of presents try ask for GW or spend your money on it...
Its worth it if u got a nice comp...
( The first part is a joke, dont take it too serious :-)
Reputation: 36never tried shaiya... is it good???
anyway i would have to go to guildwars due to not playing shaiya yet.
one thing Shaiya has that GW doesn't have ... its free space ... well ther is space where u can go whit party .... buts thats all 4 pple in open space ..
I like when i'm doing quest's meet other pple :] and pvp them ore pk them!
So every game has their +/- !
Reputation: 13Guild Wars all the way.
The winter festival going on is awesome. <3
Reputation: 192Gw is fun but unfortunatly its not MMO all the way..
Shaiya is a fun game in its own way. I'm sure Guild Wars blows it out of the water, but Shaiya is still an amazing game, no doubt. I started playing about 3 days ago (Oand I'm now at level 32 and I find the game better and better every minute.
Guildwars I bought but was never able to run on my old computer (my new one definitely can though) but from what we've read in this thread so far, it's a great game. =P
