Dungeon and dragons online

So yeah got Dungeon and dragons online when it first came out played for about a day then real life stuff kicked in and well this is the first time since then ive had a chance to reinstall and give it a go and well im just looking for some advice from anyone who plays. I have a dwarf/fighter and im finding it quite hard to level and make gold to upgrade items, im in the harbor area on keeper server.

Did you play the pen and paper? People say that would help you understand the game...

No He was asking if you did play Pen n Paper. Because It'll help you play the online game.

Nope i remember watching an episode or two of the cartoon when i was younger. Other than knowing the backround story of dnd in more depth i dont see how it helps play the online game dnd plays like any other mmorpg but has puzzles and things in the quests and as wasd controls much like Risk your life.
