if you are a graphics ***** its a big no no... it can be a bit overwhelming with all of the options, races, classes, builds and stuff. And the interface is EXTREMELY clunky at first.
Other than that it actually isn't a bad game, if you find a good party you can go into lvl 60 in an hour, and then go PvPing.

Once you get in the game change the interface to suite yourself.. a lot of options for that.
Then level up, get in a guild as soon as you leave noobie island.. then they'll get you to max level within a week.. and its PVP from there...
Awesome PVP, ranks up a top spot in my book.. I love capturing castles and ganking people as they level.. pvp is a lot of fun.

Great game! Well, till lvl 20 then. I never played across that, since I could not find a guild, or a good lvl-ing spot. But you should really try it, maybe it's more "alive" then when I played.

Shadow has a very low population. When I first played, there were like 2 people in a city!! ( starting area)

Actually if you were to visit the free site for shadowbane you would see that it does say it is free. Sure the main shadowbane page doesn't really tell you it is free.. but 20 seconds on google works wonders.

this game probably have the best pvp ever.
huge scale wars if ur in a good guild.
Also if u guys r going to play i recommend gettin into Wrath server(atleast a few months ago that whas the best server, dunno how it is now) since every other server has huge Zerg guilds, wrath only has the asians, but they suck so.
Also, its not hard getting into a guild, using the who option (/who, or just pressing 'W') u can search for ppl recruiting and maeby find something good.
the game will look like shit at first, and beeing PKed all the time its not fun either, but once u get to a hight lvl(wich wouldnt take much) and good equip(getting it from a good guild, since good items are crafted by guild leaders-inncer council with proper city)
u WILL have lots of fun in pvp

theres no GOOD class, the game is well balanced, check the official forums for great guides BUT WATCH OUT FOR OUTDATED GUIDES

maeby the easiest class to start with is templar they get a great AoE also a transformation that grants natural flying at lvl 30 or 40 dont remember correctly.
or a druid wich will help u greatly to farm gold when u need it, almost everyone will need a druid at some point.
hmm, maeby i'll play this game again... i can plvl then if u want and get u into a good nation.(im on wrath btw)

Righteo, cool. Looking at a video of Shadowbane it looks like a big guild battle the guy has many other guys following him and they are in formation so i'm geussing they are npcs?

nah, they r not NPC, party members, a party can have different formations
