    I'd have to really see it to be more exact, but DVI is a much higher quality signal than VGA. That could play part, and when you put in VGA, the LCD simply needs to configure itself for the VGA signal


    to put it simply, backwards compatibility may take a second to kick in

    thanks for the reply FabianN.

    well the first time it happend was that that screen with the messed up image stayed there. it didn't go away, even after i rebooted the computer 3 times, but when the computer was off the LCD showed the "No Signal" display which meant the LCD's fine. then i switched to the DVI connections on the LCD and the graphic card.

    my LCD and graphic card are working fine right now, but i just want to know if either will break because of what i said above.

    it looks like all 3 mixed into one, the colour in number 3 and the lines of 1 & 2.
