Mabinogi Heroes?

Ok there i was looking around sites and came across mabinogi looked like a decent game to try out then about 10 minutes ago i cam across mabinogi heroes
it looks like an amazing game and all but i dont get why they changed the style of it to more realistic.now i dont wanna play mabinogi but wait for the expansion since it has lal old features with graphics and combat update is what i can tell from the video and by the fact its a sequel they tend to keep old features.looks like a good game to keep an eye on.

Yes you can, but for some reason, Devcat(The developers) made females have a LOT more customization.

Surprisingly, they didn't show Nao, is this set after G6 or something?

Pay attention mab fans this is what a good game SHOULD look like. And the reason why they changed the feel and look was said when this debut. And I quote "Although mabinogi has been a super hit. If we wish to compete in the market we must bring the game up to todays standards. But fear not it will remain the mabinogi our fans coveted"

Wonder where you heard that before huh. Everything I dissed in the old game is basically gone and updated. So I applaud them for doing the damn thing and putting something respectable out to contend. You can p2p that then it be awesome.

this game is old news and we already had accomplished the fact that its not going to replace or discontinue the original mabinogi.. this is just a side project for nexon...
the game isnt entirely based off of mabinogi.. its just a side branch of the story being featured in the original mabinogi.. Its about saving the Godess Morighan..

That's a shame. The majority of today's market consists of raving elitists and graphics junkies. At the core of every game is nothing more than the gameplay itself. Regardless of how many polygons you put into a model, or how much detail you put into the textures, if the gameplay fails, the game itself will also fail. This should be even more evident now than in the past now that a new generation of game consoles are in the market. (We all know about the numerous overhyped and underwhelming games now existent on the Xbox 360 and PS3.)
Mabinogi might not have been the best looking game of its generation, but the quality of its core elements does more than necessary to complement its weaknesses (thus its large fanbase in East Asia).

Bottom Line: It's not what a game LOOKS LIKE that defines whether or not it is good.

Btw: Until I get an actual hands-on test of this game, it appears to be nothing more than a generic hack and slash (that conforms to today's market's graphical "standards")

I havn't really been in the know about Mabinogi at all, and when I looked at videos of it I was wondering why people thought it was so great. It seemed interesting that it had a lot of features but nothing to crap my pants over. I aint a big nag over graphics but I do perfer a medieval look over the anime/cartoony cell shading.

The things I look for more are controls, a lot of F2P games don't completely smooth out there controls. I also prefer WASD controls. If the original mab has WASD and is smooth I will play it, if this game has it I will play it. If they both have it then I would probably play this game over the original.

Mabinogi heroes will most likely end up like RO2 did to RO fans a failure and the reason i say that is because if you look at game reviews in korean sites all you do is run around and hit monsters i have seen no towns or anything this game will most definetely replace mabinogi. Like posted in RO2 worst game you cant try to 1 up a great game like mabinogi it wont work

Here's a bit of trivia guess what the number 1 free mmorpg is.
Guild Wars highest grossing highest subscription. Look up nc's stock and net worth. Then look up most of the other stocks of companies making free mmorpg's. Most are breaking even or lower even like the makers of fury. In order to be successful you need the full markets attention. Not just the anime fluffy barney kids. Because they don't have money to support production costs or server costs.

Which is why you'll see less and less fluffy games they don't sell. And any introduced to the states fade away year tops. It's just not that kind of market anymore. Overall people want quality across the board. Which is why in most mmorpg sites with rankings the tops are; PW, GW, and such because they sell. And p2p thier isn't anything p2p that is kiddy and anime that is even a contender. If this game adds the same stuff from original mabinogi. And keeps the look you got a wow killer.

i heard its WASD controls..uses Valve engine... almost like arcade style.. its an action mmo... battle system is pretty original.. its not like... WOW where your character never gets knocked back.. i heard its suposed to be like Zelda (like the n46 version.. you run around.. defend defend.. hit hit hit..) i dont think it will be that bad.. its rumored its just a dungeon runner.. however many argue that there wil be towns npcs.. and lots of other things... i heard characters will be customizable as well.. its suposedly an MMORPG

So the game is actually based on some Welsh story's. Um... Yeah thats very clear. >_> Wikipedia also dont gives loads of information. ( Meh is Lazy! )
