That's one of the very few animes I watched and thought was okay. As far as main characters go, it was the guy with green hair and the guy with the arm.
Yes, the story itself is about their rivalry and how they can prove they are better than the other. However the actual story ends with them still fighting.

i watched it last night and i almost cried cause his parents died and then his dog died and i saw an earlier episode where he was playing with his dog.
then he doesnt want to remember the past he wants to kill all the avatar users
its sad and has action.
no wonder that kid doesnt want to talk about the past.
What I don't get is when that Electric dude killed everyone and that boy was left and his avatar buddy came out
