Default [rohan] Dual Wep Or Shield???

Hey guys, im a lvl 19 human knight in rohan right now. And i wanted your opinions on whether i should use dual weapons or use one handed weapon+shield? I was going to go dual weapons, but lately I've been seeing so many pros that have shields. So im getting a little worried im making a mistake. Im asking because of my skill build. There are 4 (or 3, forgot) skills that only focus shields, so i have to decide which style im going to choose.

Which style do YOU think is better, and WHY?
Please don't say "there is no better one, there both even, etc." cuz that doesn't help me at all.

    Thanks:3

I preffer to play with dual (sword and dagger), cuz it has better dmg and its faster, the only downside is that i miss some Def and Block Rate (mobs dont miss me ).

Thanks for the response GodsTemplar. But i have a few questions for you.

    1.What level are you?
2.Are your planning to use Dual weapons forever?
3.If you are, your not adding points to the shield skills right? (theres 4 i think)

:3if you cud answer these questions, it would be very helpful.

    Thank you.

AHHH! i cant decide which to choose!!!!

I was thinking... I rarely see "pros" or high level players using the dual weapon set up. Why is that? I think its because later on, the monsters become really really strong, and having a shield helps A LOT more than when your low level because the monsters don't do that much damage anyways.

So basically, early on, the shield is not that useful...as the dual weapons are. But later on (when your high level), the shield really will make a difference because the monsters will get a lot stronger.

    What do you guys think?
This is merely an assumption, i do not know for sure. Are there any high level human knights here that can confirm?

I got to level 30 on my human knight, and the monsters still weren't doing much damage to me, even at that level.

I liked my Half Elf more and got to a higher level on it, so I apologize that I can't help you much more with Humans. D:

Aw its okay. I have a half elf too, but i like my knight more
Because i don't like carrying arrows, and half elfs...are just not my type.
And they take so much damage from monsters once they get close.
What do you put your stat points on for your half elf?
And what about your force (fire, ice, dark, light?) which one did you choose?
I might try to start a new half elf if i knew what to use my points on.

Most people seem to use Axe / Mace and a dagger if they go dual weapon. I believe that the attack speed is the same as if you were to use Sword / Dagger, but the base damage on the Axe / Mace is that much higher.

YEAH!! i actually noticed that as well!!! When you use a shield+sword, you can notice the speed difference A LOT compared to shield+axe/mace. Cuz sword is faster. BUT when i use sword+dagger..the speed seems almost the same as when i use axe+dagger. But the dmg is about 10-15 more (when i use axe). Hmm, but why do pros mostly use sword+shield?? Grrr, ill never understand!!!
