Well, I dunno about PS3 but on xbox 360 if that ever happens I just sign out then back in and it works. Dunno if you can do that on PS3 though.

Oh, this happens all the time. Turn off your ps3, unplug the ethernet cable. Wait awhile, then replug and turn on ps3. If that doesnt work, wait for awhile; that just means the server is down. Trust me, ive had CoD4 since day one. That's how it works. It was out for 2 days before double exp started... i dont remmeber when/ where.

Yeah I think the servers were down, my friend had the same problem, now it's working perfectly.
