Devote your time to something else, the job outlook for video game developers and 3D modelers is very poor, and when you turn 18, you'll wish you had spent all of those years working on something that you could actually boast about in a college application. If you insist upon learning something in the field of computers, get started by learning a language or two, then work up from there.

dammit manic, it's not funny if it's not the first reply!
Reputation: 177Give me a break. I've been too busy to insult people. And too afraid of you mods. So you're telling me I should start up again?
You're right Manic. I'll throw the rules right out of the window. Thanks for the advice! I'll make sure to tell Sandman you gave me permission to do whatever the **** I want! (>^.^)>
Reputation: 71At the age of 12, you type better than most people who can drive on this forum and that is a true feat. I could actually understand what you were saying, and it didn't get sloppy at the end. This is a true round of applause from me.
Since I have no technical advice to offer, all I want to do is give you my regards. Good luck, anything is possible if you set your mind to it. All you have to do is believe....

Reputation: 1912, what a wonderful age. Cocky and think you can do anything. Focus on school, maybe go into computer science afterwards. But right now it's hopeless for you I hate to say.
Sorry Kiddo, thats what College is for.

Reputation: 34Please don't listen to this post. You do not need to wait for college to follow your interests. Learning should never be put on hold because of your age. Don't ever let simple minded people tell you otherwise. Always strive to learn. (and go to college when you are done high school, or even before if you are a genius.. hehe)
Regarding your interest in game making:
Point at click type tools like realmcrafter and other "pre-made" type of applications like this don't really teach you what you need to know.
Others have mentioned it, but you should start learning a programming language or two. Just start off with some small programs, trying different things out. As you learn, and get more experience with the programming language of your choice, you will be able to make more and more advanced programs, and eventually a great game.
You NEED programming knowledge if you want to be a true game maker. Once you have mastered a programming language, learn another, and then another.
Making a game is no simple task. You need many programmers that are highly skilled, you need artists, modelers, etc etc.
Don't get impatient, just learn at your pace, and you will be way ahead of the pack in college if you know several languages.
edit: some 3d modeling apps for you: 3d studio max, maya
make a thread in the development section and you will get better replies
