Reputation: 10Whats your PC specs? If your PC is good enough Vista will run as a charm.
Is such a thing possible? I mean, once you get past compatibility issues, awful drivers, the occasional system crash, DRM, various infringements upon your personal freedoms, and a few [thousand] other things, sure, it ain't so bad!
I hate Vista. It makes me want to scrape out my eyes with a sharp object some times.
Reputation: 10Vista has potential to be great but its unstable at the moment, just like how XP was crap when it first came out. Vista will one day become functional, one day...

When running Vista, every single one of your device drivers checks every 30ms to see that you aren't trying to copy protected content.
Vista uses encrypted memory, slowing your computer down no end - but only for protected movies. Your credit card numbers, social security information and passwords are still stored plaintext.
XP has none of this shit.
Vista is Microsoft bowing down to the movie studios. Any new graphics cards designs have to be approved by three major movie production companies before they can be used with Vista to play HD content.
And you say DRM is nothing to do with Vista? Balls.
Windows 98SE is better than Vista.

So far for me, Vista SP1 is worse.
I've used it.
I know.
Tyvm.
About the future part.
China Olympics refused to use it.
Maybe Vienna will be better ?
Or XP will dominate with SP3 maybe ?
But IMO,
Vista should be OK for normal users.
But absolutely atrocious for computer techies like me ._. .
You'll see us computer nerds ranting about it all the time![]()
