Even if a black man wasn't running, they'd still show the percent of black people that voted for him. It's just a way of breaking down the statistics. As a large minority, it's often very influential if you get you get the black race largely swayed to one opinion.

As of July 1st, 2007, there are 301, 621, 157 (+,-) people in America (according to the US Census Bureau). Of which, I know not the amount that is allowed to vote. As of the year 2006, there are 37,051,483 (+,-) Black or African American people in America (according to the US Census Bureau). Of which, I know not the amount that is allowed to vote. That number could not mean a decisive win for Barack Obama (especially considering that the white population topples a steady 200, 000, 000+).

Also regarding your statement, not all Black or African American people want to vote, single-mindedly, for Barack Obama. It is not as simple as that.

I quite simply don't beleive the United States is ready for a black President, on the other hand I assumed that Edwards would be the Democratic frontrunner by now since I have also been assuming that not as many people would vote for a republican again, considering how much President Bush has ****ed up the country.

Although now it seems that since it looks like the Democrats can not offer anyone to become a succesful president too fix the ****-ups, it seems that Mcain is looking to be the best person out of both the Democratic and Republican parties to become President.
