Exclamation how reduce lag 3x or more !

well im not too sure about whether this thread should be here..but as far as ive heard and thru quite some searching,i found something out...

when i was playin fury in high renderer/hellgate london/lost planet(comp) kinda realised i lagged sumtimes at critical areas..if u understand wat i mean.... so there was a solution stated by some guy at fury forums that doing sumthing to completely off and wat i mean by off is not by speakers but by the system. i kinda forgot what he said cause i never tried but it seems to work...

well i dont mind sacrificing my sound for lag right..we all do

and all techies out there can tell me how its done..im still finding that darn one post which isnt stickied there in thier forums...cause 1/2 of the time i dont on the sound..just listening to music :3

if im not wrong itll work for every game and framerate will look higher ..hope my institutions arent wrong >_>

If I was reading correctly, your right. I remember playing silkroad and shutting off all sound threw the options menu. The scenery actually slightly changes, and the lag does reduce.

    spam post,
i dont think he even knows what he means

What I understand I think is that you turned off sound and no more lag?
If so....um...ok lol? thanks for the tip.............

Obviously ur CPU wont have to process sounds that aren't on so ofc it will run better

So if it will run better, why is it a spam post? Not everyone knows that.

if u turn off sound, it wont reduce fps lagg. video is threaded through the video card. Sound is proccessed through sound card (onboard or externel).
NOW sometimes if u have a shit soundcard, it can interfeer with the program and you might get a fiew unread bytes here and there and can cause to freeze your game. But turning off sound in a game WILL NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE.\

EDIT: and you have to be runing a 200 mhz for your computer to be freezing when processing dual channel sounds. Most sound effects in game are at max 360kb MAX, thats nothing.

but it is still all being processed through your main cpu memory, consuming some ram.

probably 99% of sound isnt processed through the CPU, and it doesnt take up RAM, thats what sound cards are for

If you turn off sound in a game, its the games fault it runs better, rarely your computers

Unless you have a computer from the 80's that can only add numbers

(Running Windows XP/Vista) You can also turn on Windows Media Player without playing a file and leave it running in the background as you play your favorite game to see a FPS boost. You'll notice even more of a boost if you have a dual/quad core cpu. It's all about how windows handles programs and associates resources. WMP active in the background causes it to put more resources into whatever is most active (your game).

I just read a lot of words I don't understand, so I'm going to just pretend that I do and say...

    "Okay, thanks!"
