    Default What games SHOULDA done.

Alright, everyone can think of games which had chances to be completely EPIC (f2p and p2p) but for some reason or another, the game just sucked. List somethings MMORPG designers/company runners should've done with their products.

Shadowbane: Make a newer one with better graphics, user-friendly UI, a new user tutorial, and WASD movement.

Ragnarok Online 2: Instead of making a game just like every other game out there, I would've made it exactly like the original Ragnarok-just 3d.

Silkroad Online: Get rid of bots, afk stalls, etc and make the servers bigger. Change the quests/XP rate so this game isn't a huge grinder. Put more emphasis on the awesome PvP system you have. Allow character customization.

    Your turn.

Ragnarok - "didnt suck but way outdated now" im kinda hyped bout RO2, but i woulda prefered to see RO1 get a full overhaul. keep the sprites or maybe just ooft them up abit more. get some dymanic light stuff happening on the background n so on lolz.

Maplestory - oh my how you'd be soooo fun if there was an actual purpose to the grind.
pvp plz. Guild v guild plz. and faster lvling. i can't sit at comp for 5 hours a day to get 10% lolz

ROSE online - a classic favourite of mine... sad to see only 2 official servers left. which both seem to be deing lolz. i'd love to see them free to play with cash shop, but i doubt it will ever happen *emo tear*

Exteel, if it was a mmorpg instead of a crappy room based pvp with glitchy pve crap it would have been extremely fun.

RF Online, if at level 30 they didn't basically **** the gameplay you'd have comed to get used to nor make it a open pvp zone that would be a more populated game.

can't think of anything else though there obviously is a lot more games I'd have complaints about.

Well you said what games SHOULD have done better...not really which type so the one game that comes to mind was KwonHo...yes yes many people didn't like it but personally I thought it had alot of potential as I've never seen a fighting game that lets you customize your character and my favorite feature, fighting styles ^^ unlike most fighting games where every pre-made character has a similar way of fighting I liked how for example Judo's kicks sucked but had fast punches.

Now for the part I think they should have worked on...they should have fixed the lag issues...they never did, they also should have taken away that hero ability as to many noobs abused of it...they should have added more fighting styles and maybe more skills for the styles they already had. Personally...Ijji killed a good game -sigh- kinda sad I really wish I could play it again...was fun throwing people with my judo

Final Fantasy XI - Develop a second stream of game updates once it became clear that Ps2 was outdated. Redesign areas 1 to 25 , to break the dunes> quif island > kazzam route.
Update, refresh , reboot and build up the lowbie game, especially weapons , armor, and character animations. Refresh character animation, adding new styles or frames once you hit 18 , 30 and 75.
Reboot the crafting system, increase the drop rate of mats. Remove 1 to 10 dependance on crystals for income. Greatly increase quest rewards. Remove the XP bands , add rest system , on a per job scale.
Update Signet rewards , and signet effects. Lvl 1 to 20 add in a signet effect of reraise , raise , hp regen , mp regen and xp bonus (either or not all)
Update Warrior , Monk , and begin to do things to phase out "sub ninja newbie".

Hmm... I've got quite a few.

Infinity Online - I think the main bones of this game are brilliant. It's the amount that's what it's missing. Alot more quests, alot more PvP levels and options would greatly help it. I think they should follow in the footsteps SSBB is going into. I'd assure you it would be epic enough to even warrent it for P2P. To add, allow me to play people from across the world and not segregate them to their own box(Blame Windysoft not GameTribe).

Holic Online - It does alot right except in the latter stages. Don't get me wrong, I think this is one of the better games released so far, but after level 24 or so it stretches out leaving large holes inbetween. Fill it with something(s) other than grind and you'd be there.

Age Of Armor - This game has so much potential it's almost unbelievable. I love the leveling up system, the parts and the whole zest the game has. I'm not sure about you but maybe the enviroments should be scaled down a bit more or I'm missing something out. Focus on adding more enemies. Get more custom parts and get rid of the disgusting elastic band lag jumps. I'm contemplating if I should redownload it again.

Kart Rider - If you've attempted to play the other versions of this game you'd know that it rocks. Playing the KR version I was excrutiated for it to be released in english. Low and bestowed we got it... In the most minimized way. I could cut them some slack but there is a whole lot missing in the US version. No Battle mode, no GP mode and a whole load of karts and tracks missing. Sure, I can go and play the TW version, but I have a tendancy to stay away from the language barrier since Krazy Kart Racing and Seal.

DragonGem, Raycrash and DECO - All needed one thing to improve, let alone be epic... FIX THAT LAG!

Shining Lore, Wiki and True Fantasy Online Live - These games should've been released when they we're sceduled to. I can give leniency to Wiki but the other two had no excuses. I almost got an Xbox for True Fantasy with the slight addition of Steel Battalion.

I think that's all of them.

Not my intention to take away or flame anyone, but those features have been in games before and are not really "new". But they are cool!

For instance... the blunt Vs X, slashing Vs X, etc. DAOC had these like 7 years ago.

The same goes for any mmorpg with instances. I guarantee that if the worlds were designed better, without instances that a lot of these games that get boring after a little play time would be 10x better without it.

Oh well, I guess as long as 90% of the player base of these games is whiny noobs with no skill, they will continue to cater to them by implementing instances and other things that break the mmo immersion. Can't blame the game companies though, they want to make money of course.
Turbine is addine more open content to the DDO universe with each and every module (update). They have added wilderness maps to the game in one of the earlier mods and began extending into world. They are following the pattern of how a DM would introduce a pen-n-paper RPG to new players. First you have city adventures and then introduce some wilderness, then when the characters get in higher levels, they introduce bigger and more epic campaigns.

I would suggest reading up on their modules to see what you been missing. They have come a long way since their release date.

Majority of these features are in DDO.

Where do you think DAoC obtained these ideas? D&D and Warhammer introduced these ideas within their pen-n-paper RPGs before the home PC or even consoles were considered an everyday household item.
