Dungeons and Dragons Online - I really wanted to like this game but it is so instanced that I just couldn't get into it. The world feels small, and isolated when everyone is off doing their own thing in an instance. DDO could have been such and epic game.....EPIC i tellz ya. But, to me, it was EPIC FAIL instead.
The same goes for any mmorpg with instances. I guarantee that if the worlds were designed better, without instances that a lot of these games that get boring after a little play time would be 10x better without it.
Oh well, I guess as long as 90% of the player base of these games is whiny noobs with no skill, they will continue to cater to them by implementing instances and other things that break the mmo immersion. Can't blame the game companies though, they want to make money of course.
