    Default Sunlight Makes Me Sneeze.

So, I sneezed this morning remembering SOMETIMES bright sunlight makes me sneeze. Most people look at me really odd when that happens, and I can never really explain why. My dad has never understood it, but my it happens to my mom as well.

So, I just googled it, and I found this:

"Up to 25% of us can't escape it. We walk out of a dark movie theater into the bright sunlight, and then it happens: "Ah choo!" This sneeze reflex is a genuine phenomenon. So what causes it?

Close association between the eye’s optic nerve and nerves causing the sneeze reflex may explain why an estimated 5-25% of people sneeze with sudden exposure to bright sunlight or other light sources.

Sudden bright stimulation of the eye that occurs after a person has become adapted to darker surroundings is thought to bring on the condition, known as photic sneeze reflex. The reflex also is called Autosomal Dominant Compelling Helioophthalmic Outburst Syndrome, known by the acronym ACHOO. (Not making this up. Really"

How cool is that? Does anyone else get this, or am I really that unique?

Light does more then make you sneeze. If you stand outside long enough your skin will melt and goats will eat your brains. STAY INSIDE!!!

    No, I don't get that.

Although I can't breath out of one my nostrils, no idea why.

Might be deviated septum, however I really doubt it, although it's possible.

I might get it checked out some time. Although for the last few years it's not really bothered me.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear.

You shout and no one seems to hear.

Happens to me a lot, even with bright lights, not just sunlight.

Nah. I've just noticed it ever since I was a little kid, and just found out what it was today.

Like 40% of the people I know have this happen to them. Including myself. Even my friends who don't have this never thought it was weird, but perhaps they just never pieced it together, thinking it was just a random sneeze.

I always thought it had something to do with the eyes, because if I'm in a dark theater or something and walk outside, because of the reflection of the sun off of the snow, it's harder for me to see. I have to get used to the brightness first. Weird, annoying, but not that bad.

Never thought it was out of the ordinary, surprised to see anyone shocked about it.

my friend is just like you. i don't have it, but it does help a sneeze. like if i was already about to sneeze and i look into any form of light, i'll sneeze faster. but if i'm not already about to sneeze light doesn't do anything.

nice sig/ava, the beatles rule. that movie was sweet also.

    Smile Wahahahaha...

    I think mine is different.
Like what you said, after being inside the dark cinema, I don't "Ah Choo", instead I bump to walls because I can't see for like 30secs.

But I do "Ah Choo" in total mid day, when everything around me is so bright like a "White Sand Gobi Desert".

And people often laugh at me.
