Question Why do people play Games?

There are many reasons why people play games. To the best of what I know, for example me, I play games to fulfill my fantasies and desires I could have not possible done in real life. Others play games to escape reality, they could not take there problems on reality and sulk in games while to some; it is a relaxing way to abate stressed. There are many more reasons why people play games but the fact is, they play games because our minds want something that don’t exist on reality but exist in imagination. There are two reason according to what I know why this is so. One, is mans innate curiosity of the unknown and the other one, we like to create things or be as one like the Gods. (And yeah, I almost forgot we like to be known and being acknowledge; Thus, Fame and Glory Etc. Etc.)

    What do you think?

I play games to fulfill my destiny as a pokemon master across the world. I play games to be known with my skills as a pokemon trainer. I plan to go to the continents within the World of Warcraft and conquer land, world wide, with my 6 pokeballs. The plan is faill-proof.

Just as a time waster. Although, it's getting harder and harder to find PC games that keep my interest though.

Is it only me? Playing games to fulfill my desires/imagination. Like, sometimes I Imagine I was this character from Naruto or Imagine that I am a good looking avenger guy who takes on bad guys on the news scene or movie I had seen, beating the nuts out of them and there was this dreamed girl who secretly long for me in the imaginary world I created.

Has anyone of you experience this things? or have you read a sci-fi/fantasy book that you wish it was you as the leading character. Or wonder what it is like in the wilds or what it was like living on 2000 AD with knights and archers.

Well, Games have fulfilled all these things in my Imaginative Brain and help me, if not in reality, experience what is like to be what I always wanted to be or what is lacking in me through playing role playing characters in Games.

Anyways, at least I have the same reason with cyber7chink on my second reason, Escaping Reality.

Playing Games truly helps you escape the troubles and problems in Real Life as you immerse yourself in the game and meet new people and friends where it is real people really who you are inter-acting. Once you have found the game that excites you and give full enjoyment, real time will slowly pass away on the real world as well as your problems. Sometimes, after playing, you can think better and can solve your real life problems/troubles.

Abating stressed. Yes it does take away your stressed but sometimes also create stressed when you meet bullies and trash talker in online games. Whether Real Life or In-Game, humanity depicts itself even through our Role Playing Characters. Even though, playing games is more fun than going to school. I sometimes think, you learn more with playing games than school. At least the broader side of learning...

No, Dooms. Your not the only one. I sometimes wish I could live the awesome moments in games.

I sometimes wish I was Altair from Assassin's Creed, or Snake from Metal Gear Solid.

Yes, it is also an escape from reality.

I once dreamed I lived in the world of Oblivion. I was this sexy knight, my sword and I shed the blood of evil.
