This trailer for Uwe Boll's film adaptation of Far Cry is sure to put asses in movie theater seats. Snappy catchphrases in the making like "I haven't said anything about being simple" and the gleaming star power of Til Schweiger are going to go a long way to ensuring that Crytek's game becomes a massive blockbuster. Is it me or is there an out of place punch-in-the-face sound effect near the end?

The only way this could be a good movie is if it's more or less making fun of the whole "Jungle warrior" movie, much like how Eight Legged Freaks made fun of Giant Spider Movies.
FarCry was well known to have a ****ing shitty story line. So does Crysis. Thats not Crytek's area of expertise. They simply make things look really, really ****ing cool and play well.
Over-all, I think they as a company would turn out much more quality products if all they did was game-engine designing. But hey, they want to make games, go ahead. But I can tell you, I don't play those games to enjoy the story-line. It's just to pretend I'm Super-Rambo.

Uwe Boll has one of the biggest egos in the history of the movie business. If you pan his movies, he will continue to make them.
He challenged his critics to a boxing match in 2006. He won most of the fights, and wouldn't stop beating the **** out of a young reporter after the fight was over.

I wonder why games can't ever just be games nowadays, there always has to be a movie deal there.
I'd probably go see the Gears of War movie just in the hopes that the guy who does Cole's voice actually plays him. That'd make it worthwhile for me.
