i actually stayed on the island till 31. you may want to do that as you cannot be pk'd.

How long did it take you? I think for efficiancy's sake you should leave at 31. There isn't much PK happening at low level areas.

not long...there was some ***** archer killing everything in 1 hit. i was afk most the time. it is faster to leave, but for new people that don't want to get pk'd so fast can still stay.

also, make sure you join(pledge) either a town or a guild before you level on the mainland. you get double the xp.

lol funny, in the original game when it was p2p. There was a guild called "Rolling 30s" they spawned their player city guards on the newbie island which killed everyone.
