    Default Guild Wars Download?

    Hey guys.

I played Guild Wars back when the first one came out in April a couple years back, and haven't been able to play since because my old computer didn't meet the minimum requirements. Now I have my new computer and want to play again. I'm going to buy Factions tommorow, but as for Prophecies, my account is already able to play it. Only problem is, I lost my CD.

I can download it off the site, but it's a very bad download. What I mean is that hardly anything is included. It would take an hour just to load the town for one of my characters so I can play, then another hour as I leave town, etc.

Anyone know a full download for Prophecies, the first Guild Wars?

You don't need to download prophecies, just upgrade your old account w/ the new factions CD-key, and you're good to go. (it's best you upgrade, coz if you make a new account w/ the factions CD-key you wont have access to anything in prophecies) upgrade your old prophecies account, that's the best way to go.

Edit: about your download problems.. technically guildwars only takes information that it needs, therefore if you haven't been in one place, once you go there, it's going to download the data for that area. There's nothing you can do about it, unless you know someone who has an updated GW DAT file you can copy and overwrite your outdated DAT file with.

    Err?

Not sure if you misunderstood me, or if I misunderstood you.

You're saying that if I buy Factions and install it off the CD, it'll give me all the files for the areas from Prophecies? If not, then you missed the point.

I want to play in the prophecies areas as I still have 2 or 3 missions to complete. I also want to just get used to it on Prophecies as that's more 'newbie' friendly, and I need to refresh my memory since it's been so long.

Now the download off the site only gives the required information, think of it as the client with 2GB of patches missing. There's no patch files for towns and maps, so it'll take hours for it to manually download them in-game. I wanted to know if there's another site to download Guild Wars, the full download, so I don't have to download and install 3000 files everytime I change maps.

u can also edit ur GW shotcut and leave it to download whole data u need to load (suggest u to do it when u going to sleep )

just edit ur descop shortcut like this:
    "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe” -image

Yeah, get Nightfall instead of Factions. Heroes are amazing.

exactly that's what I wanted to say there is bunch of commands u can put on the ond of ur shortcut line, like: auto-password ( u don't have to write ur password each time u want to play, game will do it for u), set GW into window mode, etc.
