Default Blacks are as racist as whites and any other race?

If you are seriously sensitive to racism, or cannot bare racism: leave NOW.

Mods, if this is too racial, or has too much propaganda in it, please lock it.

Please do not give a warning/infraction.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, this thread is meant for us to discus as to why Blacks/African Americans take SUCH offense to the word "******," "Nugguh," ect. I see a lot of movies incorporate that word ONLY when there is a black person starring in it....why is that? Not only do I see them using it upon themselves, but they use it against white people of all races, too. But, as soon as white people/other races use the word, they take it as a big offense.

This topic is for the sole purpose of why they gave themselves the permission t use that word against themselves, and neglect the whites against using it upon themselves. I find this strangely awkward.

If one of you will create a ****ing flame war because of this; this will not only prove that you're immature, but you're close-minded as well. Now, let's begin discussing.

*Please note we can discus history here, and theories here as to why whites cannot use that word against THEMSELVES, and why blacks/African Americans can.

This thread is not to be racist against ANY one. Thanks.

As a black man living in America, I take no offense to the word unless it was said towards me in an offensive fashion.

Regardless, I can think of much nicer, more apt ways of descibing a person.

Xenon, that's what I was thinking. But, even with the people of today, I still see them take offense to something so light. I don't understand it, really.

Xenon, if a white person would say that to you in a friendly-type of gesture, would you accept it?

    Depends on the person.

If it's someone I just met, I would be offended. If it's someone I know well, and it's like him to joke around a lot, I wouldn't mind too much.

Nonetheless, I'm still uncomfortable being referred to by the color of my skin, unless it's used as a description for easy identification. I'll say "Look at that black guy over there, doesn't he have a funny hat?" But I won't say, "Hey, black guy, look over here!"

I have always found true (not just with "*****" but with other things as well) that when two or more people share the same trait, aka skin color in this instance, they are usually more accepting of what would be "negative".

I saw this same thing with two poor people. One came up and said "How are you, you poor S.O.#... He just smiled and the conversation went on...

I'm guessing if someone was rich and opened a conversation with the same line, there would be a much different outcome and the poor person would think that the rich person was too condensending.

There are always comfort zones that should be reconized. Some people don't care if words that could be offensive are tossed around, but for others they might take it highly offensive.

Then there are also the relationship between the two, or more, people. When friends joke around it's usually disregarded. On the contrary, if they were enemies, it would take a much different route.

I meant TOO racial. And, I didn't flip out. We don't need his negative attitude here.

    What if he WASN'T joking?

***** is a word developed by the black man that can a be used as another way to call your friends 'homie', 'buddy', 'brother', 'bro', 'dawg', w/e.

Tupac best defined the distinction between the two -

******.. a black man with a slavery chain around his neck.

*****.. a black man with a gold chain on his neck.

I live in a black community, I adapted to it, and I use it. My black friends don't care if I say it. I actually have two white friends that say it also, and they still don't care. The only thing that matters is the context your using it in. If you say ******, its derogatory, if you say *****, its just a way of addressing somebody.
It also matters that its your friends. I ain't going to Oakland and yell "Yo *****!" at some black guy... i'll come home in a body bag.

In my opinion it doesn't matter if its ***** or ******... it's still racist. Why you would even want to re-word a racist word and use it as your own is odd.

Remind me of Clerks 2 when Randall was going to take back the word "Porch Monkey"

its a good thing you brought up a topic like this because its been bugging me for ages too lol......btw im spanish(thats besides the point but anyways...)
imo now a days black ppl are one of the most racist people around...its to the point where they make fun of white people all the time whether it be in tv in person in concert anywhere...and they dont get in any trouble for it.......for example on several tv shows you would hear a black guy say oh cracker this cracker that....oh look at the whitey...and things like that.....then comes B.E.T(Black Entertainment Television).....i bet 1 million dollars that if they made W.E.T(white Entertainment Television) al sharpton and jesse jackson will be right there the next day protesting it....now another thing thats really been bugging me too is this...okay im sure you've all played resident evil 4.....notice the setting was in mexico and all your enemies were spanish....you did not see 1 spanish person getting upset about that...but now that re5 is coming out in africa i believe it is there was a whole uprising with a bunch of black ppl complaining saying its a game with a white guy shooting up a bunch of black ppl.....when i first heard that i was like wow thats some stupid shyt....so yea thats all i can really think of for now when i have more ill post again lol

Jak that doesn't work. Because many black people use ****** in both ways. And its not ***** or ******. They will say both, simply put I have heard two black people get in fights many times and called each other ****** which became offensive at that point. It is simple, in my opinion blacks are more racist then whites AROUND here. They call people offensive names like cracker, ****** etc more than anyone else around here. That is consisdered to be racist.

Who cares? Are you really all so desperate to use derogatory terms "because everyone else does" that you're going out of your way to complain about it? So someone else takes offense when you say a particular something. Here's a solution: stop saying it. It's a word, people, calm down. Even on matters of principle, this is a stupid argument to be had.

racism doesnt mean whites hating on blacks.

racism means persecuting somebody based on their ethnic background.

white people didnt invent racism and black people arent the only victims of racism.

anyone who thinks otherwise is a small minded moron.

i dont get why people are so confused and angry over all this. attitudes and stereotypes change over time. sure maybe you live in an area where one social attitude or stereotype is prevalent, but if you then apply that to the whole world you just become bitter and twisted.

Context, state of mind, person who is receiving treatment = Racism?

Whatever, this thread is pointless, there will always be differences between skin color.

I take it as an offence if anyone calls me ******. In any tone. I find it completely ignorant and inappropriate for today's youth to say the word, and then base the signaficance on the way you pronounce it. No, ****** does not mean "brother", or "friend", or "homie" if you replace the -er with an -a. The United States is a cultural melting pot, and as such, each person pronounces each word differently because of their cultural upbringing. In other words, no one gave a damn about pronunciation centuries ago. I guarantee you that just as many Whites ended ****** with an -a, as there were that ended it normally.

    It's downright stupid.

@Close Minded Statement, I found that funny because what you said sounded pretty general, there.

@Deimos, You speak the truth, my son.

At any rate, Rendascus, quit your argument, stay your blade. You should know by now that no matter the argument, any thread with a particular race in mind being attacked will end in a flame pit.

Lolz my own family calls me a ******(I'm black but partially white too)

I could care less if anyone calls me a niggar,I'm not a drama king like that anyways.A word is a word and theres no power behind it.If you feel you've been "labeled" then you can only blame yourself.

Lolz I just remembered that episode of southpark where that guy was on a game show and the question was "what annoys people the most" and he was one letter away,he said "******" the host said "no thats not the answer, the answer was negger"

Since when is any issue reduced to black and white choices (no pun intended)? "Who cares" is a valid argument if some time is put into it, so why should it be ignored?

I just don't use the word in ANY sense, because of its roots.

I mean, what if you took the word "Nazi" and changed it to "Nasi"...how would that make it less meaningful than the original name?

I know some black people use the word...but, I agree with Bill Cosby on this one > they shouldn't, it just further perpetuates a stereotype

i think what that guy meant was that we all use stereotypes, sometimes subconsciously and only in a ery small way, but we still use them.

Stereotypes exist for a reason, it's important to remember that.

Like anything, though, it can go too far, and some stereotypes ARE bs. Like black people are criminals, it's just ridiculous.

I can only base my opinion on personal experience, and even if one race gives me a specific opinion through my experiences, I'd never say it's THAT ethnicity. I see his point though.

Well, I'm probably wrong but the Whites being a relitavly recent race, I'd think there would be other accounts of Racism before them.
I really doubt Racism started that late.
