Build one. They always come out cheaper and more efficient. And you don't always get robbed of memory because the company was too cheap to add a real unintegrated peice of shit to your hardware.

It takes like 20min to find all the parts on newegg.com and maybe 1 hour building it/getting everything working.

    Hey its np.

You can build a very nice pc for 1k. Microcenter just had the Q6600, quad core intel LGA 775 cpu, for under 200 bucks. Unsure if the sale is still on, but online its 270ish before shipping. So right there microcenter saved people 70bucks or more.

The e8400 they should still have in stock. 199. online its 240+, and just about everywhere its out of stock. So.. once again you can save 40+ bucks.

Now you might spend 40 bucks on the mobo extra than newegg, but then your still at the same pricing overall. They also run specials on the 8800GT Evga which gives lifetime warrenty, a 90 day stepup program, and allow you to mod your 8800GT with a 3rd party HS/F without voiding the warrenty.

    Try for this..

    e8400
Gigabyte or Asus p35 LGA 775. They will make sure it works.
    8800GT
2 or 4 gigs of Corsair XMS2 is good for non overclocker

Once you get there, and see if there is any new store sales in addition to their franchise wide ones, you will know what you should get.

    Good luck!

are you really going to turn this into an amd vs intel post?

even when it's pretty industry standard that amd has the edge?

maybe you're the type of person who tricks out their dodge neon and lowers it to the ground and adds ground effects and nos stickers because it looks cool?

to the end user it doesn't matter, both computers will be screaming fast and excellent for gaming.

yeah the case isn't flashy, but he could buy some LED and neon lights and add them on. if he wanted with the $500 he saves. in fact, he could buy 2 of the computers i posted instead of buying 1 of the one that you like.

and yeah the video card isn't as good but he could shell out anywhere from $20 to $200 and get a decent video card. i've seen geforce 8800s go for $250 nowadays.

That vcore 1.5 with or without the vdrop in windows? hehe

I am still burning in my e8400. Once i get a few more things done i want, I plan to up it to the 4Ghz. I have had it there, but I didnt try to stablize it. I know my ram will hit 890mhz so i can keep the 1:1 ratio.

What is your vcore at 3.6?

My system. Still working on the wiring and putting in some yate loons soon

It goes by 33Mhz because that is the front side bus, or FSB.

Course AMD is kind of the same but not.. since AMD's dont have a FSB.

All that went so far over my head....lol Amd has a 2.8ghz and intel has a 2.66 so the intel's 2.66 is better?

I take it your comparing a C2D against a "BLACK EDITION" 5600+ AMD. For gaming, your c2d will be superior. You want the information as to why, it will get winded, and rather technical.

If you want to hear it.. let me know.
