no idea, but my friend had some freshwater tropical fish once (i think thats what they were) and this one fish did a shit that was twice the length of its body before it detatched. sorry for ruining your thread.

a relative of mine had an outdoor freshwater fish pond, it had some of those oxygenating plants you are supposed to use but they grew too fast and were choking the pond, had to dig out a whole load of them so the fish could actually move. i dunno about other plants though. some cats broke in and ate all but one fish after only a few weeks

We've got a big empty fishtank downstairs, I intend on filling it with fish sometime this summer.

Will prolly get cheap and get fish from the lake though.

I WANNA SEE AFTER YOU GET THEM!

    Pfft, fishes are old fashioned...
Frogs are what's hip and gangsta with the kids nowadays.

Speaking of frogs, it's been months since Jay's had his tank cleaned...

some frogs got it on in our pond and like a week later there was a pile of frogspawn the size of a basketball.

then suddenly tons of frogs spawned!!! little tiny weeny ones. it was really cool

I recently Purchased a Betta fish which may get along with some other fish, but do not ever put 2 in the same tank>

Only thing I can think of are Cichilds
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Livingston%27s_cichlid

    and rosy barbs
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puntius_conchonius

    both relatively small and passive

Ok, I decided to do a before and after thing. Also, with what I had I decorated the right side of the tank to see what it will look like.

This is the before pick of my tank......

Its a 55 gallons tank. On the left and right back are 2 air stones (I guess that what you call them) In the center back is a heater.

As you can see not a lot going on, as of yet.

    Here is the right side....
I am trying to get a somewhat natrual look to the tank. I had a idiotic looking faux coral in it with a crab on it, but it look quite cheesy.

The other side will be almost similar but with a bigger log with several chambers in it and a lot more plants and a few stacked rocks. The center of the tank will have a bit of faux foliage and rocks. I am keeping the center open so they can have an area they can swim around in.

I will be getting the rest of the fish this evening along with the decorations.

You think it will look moderately natrual?
