I agree the game is good in both sales and fun, but I have since departed after getting S2. I'd like to go back seeing as all my friends are fully S3 geared. But currently playing LOTRO, HL2, The Witcher, etc.
Bacn, please learn your terms before making another post, GW is not an mmorpg, and it never will be. If you want to feel better, GW2 will be an mmorpg.

GW is not an MMORPG. It is merely an ORPG. The fact that GW is basically an entire instance game is what doesn't make it an MMORPG. It's basically Diablo 2 with better graphics.

Ya, I just got my Rogue to 70 about a week ago. Been gearing up my Mage with S2 gear and decided I'd give my Rogue a chance. They are fixing so much with 2.4 as well as the arrival of a whole new 25-man and 5-man instance. Woo!

honestly i kinda liked the pvp in wow....it was the only thing that kept me going but i really hated the game and the grind...if it wasnt for me playing with some friends i wouldve quit ages ago.......city of heroes is way more fun.....DDO is way more fun(if your more of a serious mmoer)...lotro is pretty interesting...and EQ2 isnt so bad either

Yeah the game is fun, so many of my friends still play it. If I were to play again, I'd probably only do Arena. Rogue's are actually really sweet, my bro used one and in 2v2 arena it was a pretty good combo as Lock/Rogue

WoW is basically the United States of mumorpegers. the game is a freakin melting pot of other games, offers nothing new, but draws the masses the promise of "rich content" and a friendly community; as soon as you get past the cesspool of ignorant and flamboyant fanboys.

You're overestimating WoW's worth. And really, if you don't feel like seeing these "idiots" bash the game, then simply don't enter the thread. One of the largest (and usually unmentioned) things in WoW is its Lore, it has a tremendously good back story and current Lore that is followable and deep, it really adds to the gameplay to have a story you can follow compared to a helluva lot of games, this being one of the main reasons I really liked GuildWars.
WoW deserves to be where it is, yes people on this forum won't agree because they're non conformists because its 'Cool' not to like WoW. There isnt a single element(thats worth while, a crappy pet system isnt a worth while element though if you want that just go hunter =S) that WoW doesn't have and do well.
Crafting? PvP? World PvP? Arenas? Battlegrounds? 10-25Man Raids? 5Man Dungeons? A nice amount of classes, builds and races? A Large open world? Constant Updates and community support? Cheaper than a helluva lot of P2P Games?
Name any other game that has all that content, and no, gathering items in Guild Wars does not count as crafting as alls you do is buy them from the Vendor NPC next to him.
And do flame on, because people KNOW WoW is good and the few problems that crop up DO get solved and the game does get rebalanced alot, but over 9,000,000 people aren't stupid enough to pay 9pound a month to play a game that doesn't deliever.
WoW started out with around 3 million subscribers in its first year, were on year 3 and its tripled, I don't think a 'dieing' game or a game that comes out in the next couple of months will beat WoW I think, even if they lost some of the player base, I don't think they'll be crying somehow when they'll still be pulling in 50million+ a month really.
Oh, and before people go on about the graphics, how many of you still play the Original Final Fantasy's? Or the playstation ones? or any old school ones?
oh and its getting a graphical update in WOTLK as we saw when Outland came out.

ive only played the 14 day trial of WoW so i know next to nothing about it. but the 14 days i did spend playing it were awesome. the only reason i didnt go out and get the game right after that is because i am poor and my laptop sucks. i think wow deserves the success it has, but we should also ignore blatant fanboys FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE
