I just completed the subspace emissary campaign for SSBB and I'd like to say a few words/review it. Note, game experience may be different for other players.
Music: Amazing soundtrack, granted I've only heard it once playing through the game I must say I'm impressed with the work that the composers put into it. The music makes the long load times seems less long, and some of the theme music to the characters (lucaro) is very well thought out.
Art: Very colorful, no real complaints except you lose yourself in some of the explosions and chaos occasionally.
Gameplay: Much like the other SSB, however gameplay is indeed a bit slower, often you need to bring someone up to 200% before you can easily kill them with a powershot.
Controls: I was using a wiimote with nunchuck, because I'm too lazy too move my wii close enough to my bed to use a gamecube controller. At first it takes some getting used to, and to be honest the nunchuck controls feel a bit awkward. The wii remote makes sense, A hit, B hit, but they added jump and shield function to the nunchuck. Using the pointer and middle figure for those buttons felt weird so I just used my pointer. Although most of the jumping I did with with the control stick. Also the new grab is really weird, A+B, which I personally don't like because it fails to register at an annoying high rate. Same goes for drop item, which is also A+B. Throwing an item is quite annoying.
Plot: Excellent plot, lots of cutscenes which are fun to watch. I'm not sure if it's my wii acting up or the game itself but I felt like the cutscenes were a bit to choppy in between them and the actual gameplay.
Anyway, Nintendo did a great job with this game. Although I would have like to have had this December 3rd, the wait was well worth it for the quality of game that came out.
