The Vatican is a city-state in Rome where the Roman Catholic Church is housed and where the Pope lives. It's a city, not a people.

And no, they weren't the people who said that the world was going to end on 2012, those were the Mayans. And all the Mayans said was that their calender, which was cyclic, would reset and something may or may not happen. The ending of the world was one of those implicit possible endings and western media and society blew it out of proportion.

The Vatican is so ******ed. Anger, pride, envy, greed, lust, sloth and gluttony are all human nature. They are what make us imperfect. Bah, stupid Catholicism.

I'm an agnostic who really doesn't like christianity, but I have to say that alot of the comments here are ******ed and ignorant. Learn a bit about the Vatican, and the history and beliefs of the Roman Catholic Church, and then come back and try to express an intelligent opinion on the subject.

Crap... I should have never have gotten that abortion.

The new one sounds gay, the original counted for almost everything!

Infact this sounds like BS. If I am a successful business man, lead a good life, give to charities, ect... but yet still have a crap load of money it automatically becomes a sin?

If this is true the Vatican is becoming full of idiots more and more each day. Not only that, but how the hell can you change what you go to hell for? I mean i would imagine that would be something sent in stone and not needing to be updated for "the times".

The important thing is to not be against "God", just the misuse of "God".

I find the intolerance of both religious people and athiests to be sickening. You can never be 100% factually sure that a god does or does not exist, all you can ever do is be 100% sure of your faith or what you BELIEVE. "I definitely believe there's a God.", not "There definitely is a God".

Nobody is sure, because you can't be.

Hence why agnosticism is the most rational. I respect peoples' right to religion and athiesm equally, I just don't see why, when neither are closer to being sure than anyone else, they would choose to definitively be on one side of the fence or the other.

Religious people all have doubts, made evident by the fact that despite believing death is the gateway to eternal bliss, they still wear seatbelts, they still cry when their loved ones died (Despite allegedly having gone to a better place) and still try not to die.

maybe organised religion is in some places corrupt or misguided.... but i think that many of these "new" sins are very worthwhile. the world is constantly evolving, why should religion not evolve with it?

maybe the catholic church doesnt have the greatest bead on things... but thats just a personal opinion. i think we can all better ourselves.

anyone who says that they dont need to learn anything more is a complete moron.

i have urinated in countless places, it does not count as pollution as human urea and excrement is biodegradeable materal.
Not wanting to learn about something is different though, and that's what I feel is usually the case with people and organised or personal religion.

I don't need or want to learn about watchmaking for example. Means nothing to me, like religion.

I just think it's totally idiotic and presumptuous to now say "Oh and God dislikes this too.". He probably dislikes a shitload of people making up new rules that he hasn't given us any reason to believe he has set (Hypothetically if he exists).
