Hmm, maybe if I was wrapped in a few thick blankets and ate enough grass and roots to plug up me bum, yea sure maybe. Oh but then I would need to stock up on food and water...hmm...no I don't think I can.

Not being sarcastic, just thinking while I type.

If we could hibernate we probably would've done it at some point.

Given our recorded history, we haven't seen much before civilized human, so at some point our race could have hibernated.

    I volunteer myself.

Tell the scientists to write me a note saying I'm absent, and send it to the school.

I sort of hibernate in weekends when it's vacation xD I stocked up food the friday and don't leave my bed except for going to the bathroom, for the rest I sleep! but I don't think it's what you mean with this topic xD

Perhaps...but then we would wake up in the middle of winter freezing our teeth off. We can't really sleep off our weight either...even if some guy ate A LOT of food he probably can't just sleep off all those pounds. In fact he would probably wake up to get some chips cause he was hungry or something. Then that guy would have to use the washroom, etc. So the whole idea of (current) humans hibernating just fails.

Thats one of the reasons humans are dominate, we don't hibernate.

Be glad, thats one more trait that makes us badass.

Humans have an internal clock that makes us sleep when it's dark, and rise when it's light. There are tons of exceptions, as some people stay up all night. But you can't say you don't feel more drowsy at night at least.

Thus, I think if we had a cave with enough oxygen, that remained dark for months at a time, it would be possible. The problem would be storing up enough calories and carbs to out last the hibernation. If you just stuff your face for a week, I assume your body isn't going to just store it. It'll release it one way or the other.

Overall, I don't think it's realistic, but it is plausible.

Stretch your stomach by eating stuff such as lettuce. Then fill it up with bread and other high carb/calorie foods. Then find a nice, always dark, place to sleep that's comfortable and has enough oxygen to last, so not a hole in the ground that's closed up.

Depends what you hit them over the head with.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear.

You shout and no one seems to hear.
