And this may be better off in the RP forum. Basically, think about how you would like this character to act. Will he be a happy person, or a brooding and mysterious person? Then think about the motivation behind his action and personality.
Will he come from a privelaged family? Does he have some hidden tragedy no one knows about?
Make a list of things you want the audience / reader to know, then think about how you will show that to them.
