Metal fans I need help!

Heyhey.

so lately I've been listening to alot of In Flames (new album is AWESOME), Soilwork, Demon Hunter, Bloodsimple, Diecast, Haste The Day (though they're not metal are they?), and Scar Symmetry. So basically what I need are more bands similar to these, as I kinda need to widen my selection of metal bands! So any help would be great thanks guys!

oh and if you'd like list the metal bands or any kind of bands you've really been digging lately, whatever! =o

hmm, I think powergamer listens to those bands alot. I only know In Flames, who are pretty straight up metal...

Taking that into account:

maybe you'll like some of the later Children of Bodom cds, like Hatecrew Deathroll (Needled 24/7 is a pretty fun song)?

Also, I recommend Into Eternity. I only have Buried in Oblivion (album) and the song Severe Emotional Distress. Their two best songs imo (that I've heard) are Severe Emotional Distress and Point of Uncertainty.

Lately, thanks to Squallion introducing me to them, I've been listening to With Oden on Our Side (album) by Amon Amarth (viking metal/melodic death metal) alot. It's pretty awesome. If you're going to try them, I recommend getting this cd to start (has no weak songs) and downloading Death in Fire (song).

I second the Arch Enemy recommendation (haven't heard enough of the other bands), btw. Bests songs I've heard: Ravenous, Heart of Darkness, The Day you Died.

Arsis is a pretty good band as well.

I like every type of metal.

Most of my favorite bands include: Kamelot, Behemoth, Dimmur Borgir, Arsis, In Flames, Prophetic, Hypocrisy, Meshuggah, Bloodbath, 8 Foot Sativa.

I mean, i know a whole lot more. But i recommend some of these bands.

In Flames, Soilwork and Scar Symmetry? Wow. Great bands.
Try some Dark Tranquillity on for size. Quo Vadis and Opeth are also really good.
Something from the other spectrum of metal, Nightwish (as mentioned) is amazing, and they've got a chick singer. Kamelot is great, Blind Guardian is another awesome band.
Something almost akin to In Flames/Soilwork is Children of Bodom. Their new album comes out soon, unless it's already out.

Parkway drive : im a fanboy, there intense.

Unearth : Prolly My favourite besides parkway.

Skyfire : Some of the best Guitar from a band i've ever heard.

Necrophagist : Not sure if you'll like em, but still worth a look,
and don't judge em by there name lool.
there guitarist is on speed.. seriously all the solo's are sooo fast >_>

Bleeding through : First Metal band i really got into, there pretty heavy sometimes the screaming and the heavy guitar notes get abit too outa control lol.

AND

All that remains : The Darkened heart (album) = awesome songs

Wow their drummer is crazzyyy. and I reallly like Kamelot, the singer has a great voice. Blind Guardian too, theyre really unique.

that Human Abstract song is pretty imo =) I like it.

I actually like some of Avenged latest stuff, some of the songs have alot more southern influence than usual, but then again they've always had that southern touch

also, I dont care what you think Holy, I listen to all types of music even rap, but this type of metal is my favourite. Im pretty proud of my music taste.

But seriously, maybe by your standards none of those bands are metal. But to normal people, at least 8 of them are.

All of the bands are very very far from metal.

Story of the Year? Breaking Benjamin? How are those considered even remotely metal? ***** they aren't even Metalcore! I think that site just grabbed anything with guitars faster then Blues music and labeled it "metal."
