try listening to the real stuff
Rap is not different to hip hop.
Rap is what hip hop MCs do. Calling rap a genre is like calling rock, sing or metal, scream.
It's simple mainstream hip hop or it's not mainstream. There's no "rap". People have accepted the label, sure, but it's not correct. It's all hip hop, really. Just different qualities.
I don't hate rap. Who the f hates rap?
Who hate rap ?! ME <_< Power metal rulezz >_> Ow and I hate hip-hop too, just less..
I hate rap
:]
I only like Flobots at the moment, if they count as rap.
back then it was the golden age for hip-hop cuz there was soo many good rappers. but after many years the good rapper either gotten too old, shot dead, prison, or retired.
THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RAP- HIPHOP
Rap is commerically EX:50 cent, soulja boy, swizz beats , biggie smalls, JAY-Z, P.diddy
Hip-hop is lyrical or story telling EX: lupe , kanye, common, tupac, big L, nas, jadakiss.
There is different profession of rap too.
Emcee(freestyler, or story teller): Big L, Papoose, Jin the emcee, Tupac, etc
Rapper (commerical rap):50 cent ETC
DJ: Dj premier dj khaled ETC
There is more but i can't think of right now
No, you're wrong.
Rap is just something that people call commercial hip hop, it's still hip hop. It's just like all the subgenres of rock and metal that idiots use, but with hip hop.
A DJ is a DJ, I'm not sure why you decided it was appropriate to define that.
There is no difference between an MC and a rapper. MC is the real term, if you rap, you are an MC. People call them rapPERS because it's simply what they do, and it's accepted. MC is the technically correct term, "rapper" is the accepted colloquial term. Like vocalist and singer. Both are the same, one is technically correct and one is just colloquial.
It's all hip hop, anyone who says otherwise is wrong, quite simply. The proof of this is in the entirely stupid and wafer thin differences that people come up with. 50 Cent is commercial hip hop artist, that's it.
People just try to separate the ones they DON'T like, into a different genre, because they think "OH! HE CAN'T BE HIP HOP! I LIKE HIP HOP! HE CANNOT BE ASSOCIATED WITH SOMETHING I LIKE!". No, 50 Cent is hip hop. "Rap" is mainstream hip hop, that's all it is. It's all "lyrical", damn kids. You don't know anything.
Do the research. "Rap is something you do, hip hop is something you live.".
Newbies.
