I belive in god heaven hell ect because if there was no God where did color come from and living organisms. Where did orgasms come from? A tiny explosion in the middle of knowhere could not have created a cell and than bacteria without the help of a God. Pope John Paul #2 even said that beliving in a God and evolution at the same time was ok. With the complexity of the body I do not belive it came out of a random explosion and than evoled to us without the help of God. Many people think the bible is literal but the number 7 was used in the bible alot and it means over a long period of time. There is evidence all over you just have to be open minded. Ok im done with my rambling on.

Folktales? Really? Is that why we have over 20,000 manuscripts of the New Testament alone in more languages than you can imagine, all 99.5% accurate to each other from the oldest to the newest? Is that why the earliest of those manuscripts is from the 2nd century, far from long enough for legend to creep in and destroy the accuracy of the text? Is that why the first 4 books of the Bible are eye-witness testimonies, one of which was written by a man who is considered by the literary community to be on par with the greatest of ancient writers and historians because of his thoroughness and information provided? Is that why Christ and the early church are mentioned by both Josephus and Tacitus, both ancient historians who are highly renowned for being the greatest historians of their respective times?

but people who believe in evolution without the influence of god would say that only the most perfectly adapted organisms survive so millions of years of evolution would therefore produce the most perfect of perfectly adapted organisms which results in the intricate organisms known as people.

one of those, through chance, has a slight mutation... it cant absorb protein. the other , through chance, also mutates after the split, it absorbs protein at a faster rate.

therefore bacteria 1 will be less succesfful at reproducing than bacteria two. so eventually the dna from bacteria 1 will die out and bacteria 2 will carry on to be dominant.

then they carry on growing and eventually one of the bacteriums, whilst splitting, accidentally has two of thse nucleus things and evolves into a double cell organism instead of a one cell organism. again this is a mutation but its through chance. since it is larger it survives better and reproduces more than the single celled dudes.

and then it carries on like that. the best adapted survives and reproduces in greater quantities until you end up with people.

thats why some people say that the human race has stopped evolving, because today people are kept alive through medicine when they would have died in nature. invalids and disabled people reproduce, heart attack patients live into old age, hereditary terminal cancer patients live long enough to reproduce, so its no longer survival of the best adapted. so no more evolution. but thats a moral and philosophical minefield.
I know how fast bacteria change but the thing is they have never changed into a complete new thing and it conjugation when bacteria reproduce

Nobody said they did. They only changed into something slightly different repeatedly.

thanks dude, been a while since i had a biology lesson. my terminology is in the toilet.

ok well certain types of bacteria found that they could exist easier by being viruses and not bacteria.

they instead evolved ways of living off other organisms, so whilst all the little bacteria were turning into lizards and shit the other oldschool baceria who didnt go along the same evolutionary paths turned into virii and started ****** the ohter organisms

you see when shit evolves theres more than one evolutionary path. sometimes both paths turn out to be great and both things survive. sometimes one path proves to be epic and you get tons of the critters whilst the other path preoves to be an evolutionary dead end and that sucker becomes extinct.

so yeah thats how it works. kind of.

daroth read the news every now and then =] Theres been plenty of people who have been medically "dead" and yet come back. there was one woman who came back at a funeral and her daughter died of fright/ heart attack when she saw it. Thats probably the most ironic one but yeah theres tons of them

There is no evidence of that becoming something completely new tho whats it called when stuff makes small changes it not evolution but what is it?

Viruses are not alive. I also watched movies and movies on evolution I have studied many things I go to a private school so we can study religions. I did that and I picked the most likely thing to believe .

As far as God is concerned, nobody is sure, which is precisely why agnosticism is the most logical choice.

If there is no convincing argument for something to be true, I won't believe it's true. If there's no convincing argument against it being true, I won't believe that. "God" is the rare exception where I honestly sit on the fence and laugh at people warring with each other, when neither has any debate-ending facts.

This thread is funny and offtopic. Topic is only asking you whether you would believe something that hasn't been proven to exist and you guys turned it into a God vs No god. Then.... It turned into an evolutionary debate. Whats next? Whether we should close down this forum or not?

If there is no proof it doesn't exist.

How do you go from a living organism that reproduces on its own to a non-living organism that doesnt reproduce on its own? far fetched to me. little mroe than "evolution" there. dont tell me it evolved liek that. How do you evolve to being dead outside host?

Scientist say that life started with monomers making polymers and such, creating rna/dna strands,(which confuses me on how that creates genes) dont remember the details, need to get bio notes out for that.

im 99% sure biologists haven't made up their mind about viruses being living things or not, yet. They have DNA, but not much else.
To be classified living you must be able to reproduce on your own, look it up. IF they say its living that proves scientist don't no what their talking about and contradict their own rules. Standards for deciding if something is living or not should not change.
