Hair advice.
Hair advice. I needs it. Basically, I want a new hairstyle. I have medium-longish hair and it's starting to get funky. Nothing too extreme, and I want to keep my hair at a longish length.

Layer it, like MAD
Than straighten it to give the ends a crisp look, Comb it slightly to one side and use gel to make the sides spike out a little bit
Example:
EDIT: Maybe you might want to dye it some random bright colors to give it a J-rock look, or stick with the scene style if you decide to do it

Use a straightener so your hair i'll look less messy. Before you attempt to straighten your hair you should use some hair protection product against heat damage. Wax/Gel/Clay is not really needed unless you want to go over the top. If you are planning to go to the hairstylist ask him to feather/layer your hair.

Well for one you didn't tell him to also feather his hair which is important when going to a hairstylist. Also you didn't even mention anything about hair protection from heat damage. What kind of hair guru are you >.>

Um, You don't need spray for heat damage, i straighten my hair every day, I'd know. And I did say to LAYER his hair A LOT which is the same thing as feathering.
My step mother has 14 years experience in hair styling, You won't win an argument against me about hair.
