They are working on a Diablo franchise game, when it gets out of developement/preprod no one knows.
Blizzard retains the rights for Diablo, and though they wish to start making new franchises now they have not let diablo die out. Fact.
EDIT: And yet again, I told people I said Blizzard East(?) meaning I didn't know for sure what part of the company was designing/creating this game.
The rest of your post is quite true. However I have to correct you on a small detail. HGL is not made up entirely of the same people behind Diablo. The main talent behind the diablo franchise did not join Flagshit studios. Flagship is made up of mostly the pencil pushers, grunt labor, and most of the small fries of Bliz north. The one who managed Diablo was merely a manager, this means he has no creative effect on diablo. Thus by working at Flagship, he does not therefore become the creator of Diablo like he tries to advertise.
Perpetual entertainment actually got some of the employees from Bliz north as well as a few other companies. The talent went their own way, the rest formed Flagship.
Most of us seem to know a couple facts. Bliz owns the rights to the Diablo franchise, that it is a hit franchise, and that Bliz has said in the past it is not forgotten nor dead.
Its Blizzard North, not East. And you are talking about Flagship studios, which was only part of Blizzard North. The real talent went to other companies, including the man behind the concept and creation of diablo.
Mythos is a test project Flagshit set up in order to 1. test their random item/mob/level system, which they claim credit for, though which was done by someone else completely back in Bliz North.
Finally, some companies love to NOT announce games until there is a lot to show. Bliz is one of them. Starcraft 3 for example. Just because Bliz hasnt told you personally does not mean it doesnt exist. This is something you have to learn in the game biz. There are a lot of reasons, most of them marketing reasons, why developer companies love to keep things under wraps until its almost there.
