Maybe, but not just for making her cry. Crying is very, very over rated. Just because someone cries, it is not an automatic trigger for sympathy. The brother was an asshole in his approach, but somebody has to drill into her head that what she did was VERY stupid, and as an eighteen year-old she should know better. I agree, it is unreasonable, and the reaction to her return home was, though funny, rather stupid. I still hold that, until she moves out, it was her own fault for not telling anyone she was going somewhere. Anyway, it doesn't really matter. For all we know, the mom could be mad because the girl got home at 1:00 AM, or that there truly was evidence enough to impose a 10:00 o' clock restriction (Judging by her manner from the video... I'm willing to bet it was justified, at least a little).This however I can agree with. However, no matter how physically attached to her parents she is in terms of materialistic needs, that does not detere from her intelligence. To treat her like a child without taking into account her mental development, and imposing rules based on an assumption that she cannot take care of herself, isn't logical.
Of course, we don't know the entire background story here, but to impose a 10 o'clock curfew on an 18 year old is almost never reasonable. It is usually just a matter of overprotective parents, who cannot adjust to the fact that their child isn't completely helpless. If the child can't take care of herself, despit being 18 years old, then the parents should re-evaluate their way of raising the child, because a child don't become helpless be themselves either.
Secondly, to impose a punishment on a child for meeting a person of the internet, is also highly unreasonable, because the mother in this case, knew nothing of her daughters relationship or knowlegde about the person in question.

I couldn't watch the video due to my browser freezing up every time I tried to. (Bad Firefox BAD! D:<) But after reading Sandy's post, it became a whole other story. It seems to me like the kid, I mean, grown woman, is a spoiled brat. It doesn't sound like the mom is at fault at all. She just seemed worried about her daughter.
(Will add to this post soon as I load up IE and watch it on that).
