So I'm going out today and tomorrow to look for a job in retail. The thing is, I have no real experience in retail. So I'm thinking about lying on my resume, and hoping they don't ask me to provide my references.
What do you guys think? Do they actually check these things? What will I need to know to lie convincingly? I'm assuming I need to learn how to use a cash register (maybe I'll ask my sister, who works at No Frills). Is there anything else?
I know lots of people who've lied on their resumes, because it's almost impossible to get a start in a retail job without prior experience of retail.
What's your experience? Have you ever done this? How?
