I'm doing a (look at title) project for English that involves several different varieties of writing and aristry. One of which involves a Survey (my choice.) Only problem is, I have no clue what kind of survey to do. My topic is Night. Any suggestions?
The story is about someone who goes out at night, sees the moon, and gets confused? It seems pretty random to me, but it's written nicely, you'll be fine.
Yup, most of my 10 min. stories are pretty random. I believe the major downfall of it, was because it had to be one page. Not enough room for details and such.
You could have pulled off the mysterious tone better by using a bit better writing style. Don't be so sudden and blatantly descriptive of everything, use the senses to let the readers draw their own conclusions, it adds to the mystery. The pace seems a bit.. out of whack. Either you go for the slow and creeping suspicion, or the quick paced sudden mystery. Those two styles tend to make the mystery a lot better. When introducing the fact that you're in a library, bring the description in first - then announce that you are in the library. Let the reader wonder about where you are first before telling them anything. Perhaps give more description on the girl, and make her a tad more mysterious. Make the bombardment of questions a little more detailed, maybe throw in a few lines of dialogue where you are constantly throwing questions at her.
