Modern technology is allowing parents and doctors to screen babies for genetic disorders, diseases etc. This can happen either by testing the sperm / egg cells before fertilization (making test tube babies, essentially), or through gene therapy - which involves testing on an embryo.

The general fear / controversy on this subject is the fact that some people think this will stop being just about curing genetic defects - and move onto people choosing hair colour, eye colour etc.

What's your opinion?

I don't see any problems with this. Although, I don't think it should be up to the parents to decide what their child is going to be like.
