What can i say, its pretty AWESOME!!
i got the choice of picking God of war or Crisis core or this..
so i chose this, its really awesome!
Gameplay 9/10:
The game is a rhythm game, you press either [], /\, X or O to make them move forward, attack and retreat and etc and before you'll know it, you'll be tapping your foot, shaking your PSP and singing the song in your head.
you beat bosses and complete quests and hunt with the buttons above so its really hard to ever forget it,
everytime you beat a boss they get stronger, there isnt any maximum level but the possible highest i've seen is 40, this game is absolutely amazing, before i played this i never even knew there was a such a thing as a rhythm game and i thought it would be lame but this is awesome..
while ingame you can also invoke juju (miracle) which is basically the power of nature like making it rain or making an earthquake.
there is about 30 levels with more than 10 bosses, but some of them are doubles but with slightly different attacks
there are 6 different types of units such as
Yaripon (spear wielding hunters) (for hunting)
Tatepon (sword using defenders) (for defending strong attacks)
Yumipon (Archer) (attacking those annoying archers at the back)
Kepabon (horse riding knights) (for charging against enemies)
Dekapon (bigass mace user) (for hitting like hell)
Megapon (note blasting warriors) (for low dmging AOE attacks)
Graphics 8/10:
The graphics are really nice, its a 2D game that looks like it was hand drawn on some rough paper and animated, especially the lightning, picture this, a striking yellow lightning hitting the screen on a blacklike background while you're attacking the boss...
Music 10/10:
Ahhh the music,
everybeat you make you create a sound, ill only list two: pata & pon
once you reach fever mode (powerup thing) the sound changes and is actually enjoyable, the music changes everyone stage i think, this is kind of hard to explain, the music is just...enjoyable..
Misc 10/10:
There are a lot of music games that are really enjoyable and cool, this whole game is almost based on luck, what bosses drop can be sucky or freaking ass KOOOOOL like i got a stone from one boss and got a platinum from another, the minigames are also rewarding, you can get really rare stuff from them.
on another note, you can also make rarepon, they are a more upgraded version of patapons, theres about 6 i think, they range from having quick speed or uber strength.
overall (9/10):
This game is really amazing and unique, like i wrote above, i chose this over God Of War and FF Crisis Core, i dont know if i made the right choice but i dont care, this game is awesome.
note- At first i thought the game wasnt fun as i played it, then 20 hours flew by and im still playing it right now.
