Default How do you pronounce "Requiem" ?

Lol, I've had difficulty trying to pronounce this word.
I'm not sure if it's a foreign word or anything, so maybe there is a fixed pronounciation, but let's see.

    I normally pronounce it: Rah-keem
    o.O

If you have a different pronounciation, feel free to post it.

EDIT: Looks like a lot of people are going for the "Qu" pronounciation. Lol then I'm way off. I thought the "Qu" was supposed to be pronounced as a "K" since I thought it had something to do with the French language lol.

    ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

I hope to god that English isn't your first language.
Also there is this cool little thing called a dictionary, and if you look up a word right next to it is the pronunciation 0.0! Cool right?

    See? Learning is fun!

Rohan is not a made up word, well not recently. Its been around for many years (the word).

Look up the Rohan family, clan, and house. The most recent use of the word (household use) relates to the Lord of The Rings trilogy.

This is how your supposed to pronounce the word.

    Main Entry: re·qui·em
Pronunciation: \ˈre-kwē-əm also ˈrā- or ˈrē-\
    Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Latin (first word of the introit of the requiem mass), accusative of requies rest, from re- + quies quiet, rest — more at while
    Date: 14th century
1: a mass for the dead
2 a: a solemn chant (as a dirge) for the repose of the dead b: something that resembles such a solemn chant
3 a: a musical setting of the mass for the dead b: a musical composition in honor of the dead

I did "consult" a dictionary and have proven that you cannot "consult" a dictionary.

    1 a: to ask the advice or opinion of <consult a doctor> b: to refer to <consult a dictionary>
    intransitive verb
    1: to consult an individual

Unless you can talk to a dictionary, you cannot use it.

Oh and, cyberchink has already showed me the dictionary definition.

Example b shows that you can consult a dictionary. So in this case, consult means refer to.

The IPA for requiem would be:

[r3.kwi.3m], based on italian latin which I think is closer to roman latin.
