    Default Video Format Converters

Does anyone know or use any free video format converters? I need one

to convert video clips to .wmv or MPEG format for a project because .avi files

are visually incompatible with windows movie maker (there's audio, but no video),

and don't really want to pay some unknown company an unreasonable amount

of money for a full version (I tried using the trials, but they're completely

    useless).

    Can anyone help? Thanks

Are you sure you aren't trying to play around with Dattebayo's new releases of Bleach and Naruto? I've heard a lot of complaining that people cannot run the new videos in HD format because Windows Media Player does not support h.264.

In any case, check out the VLC Media Player as it will encode stuff as well as play stuff.
