    Default Hm, good PS2 game?

So, I'm getting really really really bored of the computer, so I need some entertainment for the weekdays.

I'm driving up to EBGames tomorrow to buy a new game or 2 to keep me occupied. These are the exceptions:

    - $50 or under.

    - No Final Fantasy games. (beat them all)

    - No FPS games. (fps suck for ps)

    - Adventure games. (not sure the exact name, but like FF games where you're a mage/warrior/bows blahblahblah etc..)

    That's about it.

    Hm... Mercenaries?

I don't have many PS2 games so I can't recommend a whole lot, but it's the console I stuck most with.

It's better if you watch videos of it. It's a fun game, and has a great story.
    Here's shitty IGN reviewing it:

    Looks really really really good.

Does it have alot of hidden things in it sorta like Final Fantasy 9?

To tell the truth, not really. While the game does have a time attack mode and extra weapons and stuff you can unlock by playing said time attack, and extra difficulties, there isn't much hidden stuff.

You'll love this game every moment you play it though. You'll get into it, and feel shit. I teared up small tears of anger at the end, and tears of joyful anger during the credits.

So, not much stuff to do once you beat it other than time attack and trying to get faster times, but it's a damn good game. And I think it's only around 25$ now.

    Okami is awesome...
You are a japanese God in the body of a fox or wolf... I think it's a fox
And you have THE BRUSH as your magical weapon...
With the brush you create lots of things and use your god powers...
    It's so beautiful and free...
    Some compare to Zelda...

Sad part is that I stopped playing cause I have no idea what to do...
Never bothered to search... I might do this now =D

No offense guys, Okami looks really lame. I'm not a fan of the Asian style game.

Even though it's "Asian style", Tales of the Abyss is a pretty good game.

    Intro...

    Gameplay...

Well it's not really like God of War or Shadow of the Colossus...
    There are no bloody battles..
But it's more of a logical game...
And the graphics are so ****ing cool...

Otherwise you could try the Prince of Persia ones..
    Probably you already have...
What I really wanted for PS2 is Assassin's Creed :/

When you're not familiar with the Tales series which he probably isn't, and many people aren't, then that argument against it is null and void. The intro was unnecessary to post, but I posted the first video and was too lazy to erase it. So I just found another vid for gameplay.

Tales of the Abyss was a fun game. It has a decent battle system. As a fan that likes a bit of strategy thrown in with his flowing action. The story and the characters are kind of meh though.

If you're interested in a platformer, the Ratchet and Clank series is supposed to be pretty decent. Never played it myself but always wanted to try some of the latest ones.

    @Vesper;

I watched about 3 reviews on Beyond Good and Evil, and in each review the reviewer said that the gameplay way very repetitive and the graphics overshadow the gameplay.

    @Abysmal;

The gameplay in Tales of the Abyss looks really good, sorta like a FF style, but if I had to listen to that squeeky girls voice screaming chinese/japanese things whenever she attacked, I'd probably shoot myself. If it's cheap enough, I'll probably get it though.

God Hand, I have Beyond Good & Evil on gametap if you ever feel like trying it, I personally got bored pretty fast.

Try getting GoW 1/2, or Ratchet and Clank.

    Beat GoW 1&2.

Ratchet and Clank is a ripoff of Jak and Daxter. And I have Jak. Sorry babe <3.

    I loved that game.

Too bad they dont make it anymore.

It's just as hard to find as FF7.

I thought Beyond Good and Evil had a very unique story-line, not everything is as cut and dry as it seems. It adds elements like taking pictures of the local wildlife to gain extra cash and getting upgrades for your camera. It has many side missions you can participate in such as races and combat mini-games, you just have to look for them throughout the game.

I give it an 8/10, one of the few games where I actually beat it in a couple sittings (played about 8 hours straight each sitting).

I have the urge to tell you to look for a PS2 game that happens to share your username, if you don't mind mindless beat-em-up games
