    Default Diary of the Dead

What did you all think of this movie?
I personally thought it was great, it had Romero's style mixed in with the original zombie theme.

I think you're talking about the whole "realistic" view, it was all filmed basically from a hand camera to make it seem realistic.

Romero basically invented zombies. Made them more than voodoo creatures.

but i agree, the movie is great. Something new to the zombie scene i would say. Its obviously not a bad thing either way.

I can get over the cheap acting. You just have to assume that with these types of movies. No big theater hit, just here and there.

I think with this movie, Romero really brought this genre back to its roots.

    seen it. its shit.

stereotypical characters: the hero, the love interest, the meek girl, the hot girl with a douche boyfriend, total crap.... stereotypes only work in films when they dont take themselves seriously like big trouble in little china or something like that

made worse by the crap acting.

    avoid like the plague unless:

A - you love all films, no matter how bad, with zombies

B - you are really into the "realistic" style of filming

i prefer realistic-ness as in saving private ryan where the camera takes 1st person a few times in high octane scenes then returns the viewer to the passive observer making you feel like you are there.

having the perspective from a hand held camera makes me feel like im watching the events after they have happened rather then being there at the time.

i guess its like they said, these new breeds of films are for the youtube generation.
