I've never gotten below a C for anything besides Chinese though.

I'm in the same class as my 2 year older brother (I'm 16 and he's 18), and my parents are always fine with my grades at least if I get a higher grade then my brother, which I usually do *awesome pose*.

Not high because I don't study...
But if I get like 5 or 6 [grades are 0-10] my dad tells me that I can do better..
Because I'm intelligent and blahblahblah...

What I really wanted was some reward for good grades :/

like before christmas i had to hand in the first draft of my dissertation chapter. it wasnt a formal deadline it was just something my tutor and i decided on between us. i kind of slacked off a bit and only finished half of it with a few days to go and i thought "bah, ill just hand this in"

that night i had some kinda nightmare which i dont remember completely but my tutor was in it and he was disappointed about something and i woke up all sweaty (lol) and i thought, holy shit

th next morning i went to the library and got out 15 more books, read them all by the next day and finished the chapter and handed it in. my tutor said thankyou.

I used to get A's and B's but when I got a C in one class and my step mom (may her soul burn in hell for all eternity) yelled at me for getting something lower than an A or B, I stopped trying. Ever since then I just got worst and worst grades and a while ago my dad pulled me out of school because I'm moving and I'm going to have to get my GED in about a year when I can finally get it.

lol, but seriously, when it's something I care about, I'm capable of doing very very well, if not, then alot of the time it just doesn't get done, sadly. Sometime last year stress got to me, and I decided I wanted to drop out and do what I really wanted to do (pursue a career as a writer). So i finished this year with unbelievably horrible grades, and I'm not going back next year.

My parents care, but there's not a great deal they can do anymore (I'm 21), and they support me in my decisions.

further education isnt for everyone and parents risk doing more harm than good if they push their children in a direction the child doesnt want to go just because the newspapers and tv tell you that all your kids should go to uni and become lawyers or doctors.

My mom and dad care to an extent. It means something to them, and they give me lectures from time to time, but its nothing compared to yours..

Dropped out at the age of 17, parents supported me going to a facility known as Job Corps where I spent about 2 years, learning construction, and I got a little taste of college when I went there. I got my honors GED, a certificate in commercial painting, about 21 certificates relating to construction, and I learned so much when I stayed at Job Corps. Everything over there is free, which is awesome, they pay for your college if you don't qualify for financial aid. I think dropping out of highschool is probably one decision I don't regret.
