I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.
you guys have some dumbass over protective parents
seriously
i am quite stunned by this
parents are so dumb sometimes. dont they realise that the more boundaries they set the more kids are gonna try and break them?
theres a difference between being a good parent and an overbearing **** who thinks they know best about evrything.
the whole: im your parent and im older so i know best thing doesnt work anymore when you have such big generational gaps with things like technology.
My parents never seemed to care what games we got either. They trusted us in the fact that we new real life from a form of entertainment. The same reason we use to watch horror movies like jason but never went and slashed any camp counselor up. In fact my dad was the person who kind of got me into games when he got Doom and Wolfenstein from my uncles. Lets see what Jack Thompson has to say about them apples. Most parents and old dudes of today need to see games for what they are... a form of entertainment, and thats all.
Parents need to have more faith in their kids rather than try to control them they need to guide them. Otherwise its not really parenting but a form of dictatorship, and no one likes being controlled or told what to do.
Unfourtunatly it seems as though your basically screwed here buddy. Unless you can somehow reason with your mom, which she sounds stubborn as hell to believe in anything anyone tells her about games because she doesn't know shit, then really the best thing you can do is really to play it behind her back. Of course if you get caught prepare to the face the consequences of your actions.
Reputation: 34The beauty of your mom wanting to produce articles and shit on gaming is that there does not exist a valid argument that violent video games make people violent.
She can search far and wide, google her heart out, search every book at the library and she will not find any solid proof that video gaming does anything negative. What she will find is bullshit half truths and crap like that lunatic Jack Thompson.
Any who, I bet your mom lets you watch violent movies and tv shows. So really she isn't being very logical if she bans you from play FPS games and not all forms of entertainment.
LOL
View angle does not make a game more violent, eh..
TF2 has some violence however, but it's not any more than Looney Tunes, at this point.
Reputation: 94So is banning a game wich only has a tone of cartoon violence, i find it dis-respecting to find that my mom things i cant telll the difference between reality and a few pixels, and that im stupid enough to go on a killing spree after I played a game with freaking PIXAR LIKE graphics.
Allso i found out, after speaking with my dad on skype, that when they "Both agreed" that i shoudlnt play it, My dad wasnt even shown any footage or screenshots of the bloody thing!
jesus christ, im installing it anyway and playing it when shes out, or i may just normally play it and alt+tab when she comes in the room.
Ill have to see how fast it can alt tab though.
Kill her, im 14 and play/see all kind of violent/gory shit, my mother could care less. (unless i do violent/gory shit, wich i do)
Back on topic, tell her that the game aint violent, and show her AC and stuff.

May i ask,
HOW is murdering my mother a good solution?
First off id go to jail for prettymuch a large portion / rest of my life.
Secondly, i still love my mom, she put a roof over my head, pays for the food i eat, and gives me a shelter - and she has to work very hard to get the money for it nows shes a single mother, and besides, shes my mom - why the **** would i want to murder her?
She just has a gripe with first-person games, tis all.
Im still playing it anyway, have a book at my lap, if i hear noises outside my room of people coming or if the door opens, i quickly turn off the monitor and pretend im reading.
Its worked well so far.
