Default what kind of Grind is Neosteam?

ofcourse there is grind in every game.

....but theres mindlessly boring grind and fun grind.

    mindlessly boring grind:
    - Silkroad
    - RFonline
    - Archlord
    - Lineage 2
    - Rappelz

the kind of grind i like is with lots of cinematics, full voice over for npc, instances ect.... not just vast seamless world run to kill mobs after another over and over with no depth and quest is avoidable..... kill mob kill mob kill mob.

    fun grind:
    - Mabinogi (cinematics and instances)
    - EverQuest 2 (full NPC voice-over)
    - Final Fantasy 11 (cinematics)

so now what kind of grind is Neosteam?

Well its all opinion of course so your not going to get a straight up "factual" answer as there isn't one..

As for my opinion, I think its fun. The difference in classes/races makes it very team based so partying is fun, the quests are fairly generic go kill this or go fetch this item from this monster though there are a couple really cool ones. There isn't cutscenes from what I know, but if you like the whole fantasy mixed with steam age setting and you think its really awesome looking, like me, you won't even notice your grinding.

No instances, though there are LOTS of bosses you can team up and kill and they are definitely worth killing though usually its more for rare items than for XP though you get a pretty huge amount from what I understand.

The quests are avoidable and usually they give a bit less EXP but they give a TON more items/money than just grinding and it follows a storyline so a lot of people choose to do that since they are more fun than just killing mobs, killing mobs is easier to do though (for me at least) so I choose to do that xD but thats just me and I want to get to the higher end levels so I can have an advantage during PvP and RvR.

Also Neosteam is a lot more based on PvPing and RvR so the grinding/questing aspect isn't quite as worked on.

Well i don't consider mabinogi fun since you have to pay .. (it's like a trial if you dont pay so it's not worth the time)

i have never tested everquest 2 or final fantasy thought

well i didn't get bored grinding on Neosteam, well maybe a little since they were going to wipe characters later on, so i was most likely testing skills and classes. to see which one i was going to pick at open beta.

So what i want to say is that Neosteam is a fun grinding game.

That is such a dumb outlook. The game isn't fun because you have to pay? Get a job or something because 10 bucks for a nexon card every what... 2 months, is nothing. I'd rather pay for rebirth cards on Mabinogi than play the majority of dull f2p mmos that roam around. You get what you pay for.

It plays a lot like WoW in the way that the game is built around quests. Do quests, level up faster. Grind mobs and you level slower. My biggest beef with the game was actually with the terrible translation. When talking with their PR people they assured me they are working on that and will be running a second closed beta instead of moving to an open beta to test new translations.

The actual amount of experience you get per enemy is fine, the combat is just so damn boring.

to be pay to play isn't worth it. there are ALOT better games p2p out there.
and of course you dont know anything about mabinogi
you have to pay for almost everything. is not only the rebirth... read more and you will know it.

I go based on what the official Nexon forums say. The Mabinogi players there basically said that all of the other stuff except rebirth was optional. I haven't gotten far enough to need anything yet so I don't know.

Still, Mabinogi is one of the better f2p games that I've played. Everything else that I've played is very dull and lacks well implementation. I haven't tried Rohan or Requiem yet though. Not sure whether they actually are good games, or if it's just the next hype f2p game.
