Guild Wars has excellent PvP. The PvP is based on your skill selection and user skill, not items which is great. Even with the best items you will only gain a very minor advantage.

Another advantage of guild wars is that you can instantly create a PvP only character that starts at max level so you don't have to worry about PvE at all if you didn't want to. With the PvP only character, as you fight you gain points that can be used to unlock items and skills and such to use for your PvP characters. (unlocking skills in PvE also unlocks them for PvP should you choose to do PvE as well).

I always did PvE as well. I thought it was fun to enter PvP wearing a full set of FoW armor. Warrior FoW armor looks badass. Fow armor is the most expensive armor in the game. It provides only cosmetic differences however (the stats are the same as the other cheaper armors).

I havn't played in a while, but here is a pic of my warrior wearing FoW armor dyed black (it's mostly black without the dye, but I wanted it all black).
