hmm.. i didnt realize e-games closed either since there was no reason to go onto the site.
but yeah, it did have really good games. SP, O2jam and GTH were the best. but O2jam was the last one before it closed.
No E-games wasn't a bad company they just needed to close SP because they didn't have the right to keep it anymore.
They closed GTH because that game was old and full of hackers and they could not get rid of them.
Loosing those games, they started to loose alot of popularity and they started to loose money so they close.. :S
Reputation: 167e-Games was a trashy publisher.
All they did was purchase initial rights to a operational client build and then gain profit from that. They never tried to go beyond the client build they had, even when there was expansions and updates that other publishers had.
e-Games was only worried about the money and never the community.
Why did they close down? I just answered that.
for once cyber im with you. e-games was pure trash publisher and didnt care about nothing related to their community
Reputation: 36E-Games weren't trash. They brought in that new client build thing many people enjoyed, and at first worked towards the community. Then they got attack by sooo many hackers they really couldn't do anything but fend off hackers and fix bugs that get out of control. They shut down those games BECAUSE OF THE HACKERS. You can't call them a crappy company because the the time started it was too late to get the top hacker pervention so thats what they always had to deal with. They couldn't handle it, and they weren't making enough money so they had to shut down the games and eventually shut down in total.
You talk about them feeding for money, well they wouldn't of if they actually had the funds to run their games. Don't blem them, blame the people who played them with their hands empty.
That's the only reason O2Jam went mostly p2p because it was their best game and they NEEDED MONEY, they had too many hackers on SP and not many people cash shopped, so that went down. GTH wasn't really a high played game for them, plus hackers and low funds, you know what happens.
Knight Online was going down the hole as well..
Reputation: 22The only game I liked from E-Games was Battle Position, similar to Gunster from Ijji.
they didnt do one thing when the whole hacking problem started they let it go .
as far im concerned i played GTH close alpha open release tell you something most of GM quitted because of e-game unstable , and incomprensible to defend their client from hacking. patch for hackshield was useless .
Alot of people was playing GTH in the begining way before hacking fest started
Hey **** you guys, every one of you who bash e-games. If it weren't for them, i wouldn't be playing mmos. or even on onrpg.
Man i miss team revoluxion...
Reputation: 36One of the first publishers i knew... And I got hooked in 02jam because of them. It's just sad... I wanna cry![]()
Reputation: 10didn't e-games also host ran online?
yah I remember playing GTH i was lvl 72 when the server went down....
I think they switch to G&G because both kinda suck as a publisher.
Reputation: 13I thought the GMs in GTH were corrupted.... >_> that's why it started to fail. Bribery from a few main hackers so that GMs will not do jackshxt about them, people losing faith, and so on.
Not so sure about other games.. but oh well, whatever, lol. It's kind of old now.
