There are buddy keys that come bundled with the retail copies of the game. There are also trial discs you can buy at gamestop/eb games. Can't get them online, but the online store will tell you where nearby you can buy them.
tried the buddy-key trial for the pc. the controls and manuver is very confusing and frustrating using keyboards. i dont think pc version is a good idea to play.
i play for less than 4 days and quit. got no where.
The controls can be changed. I currently use the compact keyboard setup (wasd movement) with inverted Y-axis camera movement (which is similar to most games where up is up, down is down). The menus take a little time to get used to, but that can be said for any game.
FFXI Is not a game you can just start playing right off the bat, unlike most free MMORPGs, that is something Squarenix did RIGHT.
The game really picks up after you start getting your main class skills, getting involved in the storyline, getting accessible means of transportation, etc. etc.
So if you didn't even make it to level 12, well, your opinion hardly matters.
I've got an account right now and another staff writer is getting an account. We will be playing on Asura. If there are people who would like to join us, let me know. Rather than type, I usually boot up skype to talk. PM me for now if you are interested. If there are enough people I'll start a seperate thread.
Its a good game if your like a finely skilled doctor and have lots of patients.
The only thing i agree with is dont play thief unless you plan to play DRK/THF...thfs suck major ass..i dont care what any says, iv played since day 1 and thfs..compared to other classes..suck major ass..
