Darc's review corner-Age of Conan

I rarely review games,let alone MMORPGS,but I found Conan a good game to start reviewing.

Now,I just got the game yesterday for my birthday,which is next week might I add,so i've not explored every content.

GRAPHICS:

Graphics are usualy a boogey.Either they are too high and demanding or too crappy.Conan offers great graphics and some people say it's got performance issues.Well,that's a lie.Even my old rig of a P4 at 3.2GHZ,a X1600PRO and 2GBs 400MHZ RAM can render pretty amazing graphics and run at steady 25-20FPS(Don't worry,you don't notice the FPS beeing somewhat low.The human eye only detects drastic changes).At the graphics department,hands down for a 9/10.I would give it a full score but I haven't tried the game with AA on yet.

GAMEPLAY:

The gameplay is out of the box,combat and whatnot.I was surprised with the good surprise the combat was when I first played.The climbing and hiding is also a good surprise and the game feels a bit like Assassin's Creed only with less climb happy freedom.The extended class selection is also jawdropping and the character customization is pretty awesome.The mature gameplay also makes Darc very :3.I'll have to give the gameplay 9/10,it's irreverant and original but there's some issues like selecting combos,there need to be more hotkeys and possibly other attack keys,other than 1,2 and 3,anyway,and to give the player more freedom instead of clicking everything,for example to climb a latter.

PvP:

To be tested,i'm not the most PvPish fellow.

OVERAL:

The game was a good suprise and Funcom did a great job.There needs to be a few minor adjustments,I always have an hard time selecting a combo and attacking at the same time.Also,the grinding gets somewhat bad at level 10 but the grind should be quickly erased with a good group matching system.

With this,I bid farewell.My character name is Darc and i'm on the RP-PVE server (Less WoW noobs running around).If someone wants to be my game buddy,give me a ring!This game is so much better if you play with a friend to help you on quests and etc.

to add to his review for you guys....i agree with him the game is great.....quests are really innovative...something similar to quests of ddo and games rarely have quests like that......specific classes get specific kinds of quests in the game so it wouldnt be such a bother to reroll other classes......one thing that might get kind of boring at first is that from lvl 1-20 your stuck in the starting city named tortage in which you have to alternate between multiplayer mode and single player mode....single player mode helps develop your classes story and multiplayer just has your average quests.....but after lvl 20 its pure mmo from then on....if you try to lvl off of grinding it'll take you ages but doing quests gets you lvl'd up in no time....pvp servers are full of gankers at the moment so those are dangerous areas to go to at the moment i recommend pve servers until they find a solution for the gankers....rp pvp servers are safe as well also though....and although your in a pve server theres still pvp..they have siege wars and pvp mini games (team vs team deathmatch or capture the skull)...both pvp mini games are great fun...another thing i found great about the game was the ability to remove points from certain skills to add to other skills for example say if i had 100 points in my hiding ability and no points in my other abilities i can remove all 100 points from hiding then put 20 in each other skill if i wanted to......the combat system which is the most hilighted portion of this game might be tedious to some but amazing to others.....honestly if you have small hands, hand issues, or dont like pressing multiple buttons you'll have the combat but if your hands are adequate size and are able to push multiple keys then you'll be ok....typical combos have you pressing 1 key to initiate it then either 1 or 2 keys to follow through with the rest of the combo.....fatalities another sexy feature added to this game....only real downfall to fatalities is that they occur randomly...but there are certain equips you can get that help the frequency of fatalities....as of now thats all the info i have to give on the game once i play more i'll hvae more to give
