CoD4 - Multiplayer > CS:S ?

I'm thinking of quitting CSS for CoD4 as I have heard that the multiplayer is absolutely amazing. Is this true? What are the pros and cons abot CoD4 Multiplayer?

Ugh after playing 2 days worth and seeing all people going crazy over the multiplayer and what-not like this I stopped.... I realized it seemed really REALLY over rated and now I do not realize how I could have gotten over 48 hours because I despise it now...

You can't really compare them.

CS:S is much more tactical. CoD4 is run and gun.

In CS:S when you die, you're dead. In CoD4 you respawn right in the middle of the action.

CS:S has a motherbitching learning curve. CoD4, anyone can play!

In CS:S, it's just you, your gun and the enemy. CoD4 has helicopters and air strikes and whatnot.

CS:S has custom maps. CoD4 doesn't. (Unless you're playing on PC. That might be different.)

And so on and so forth.

Really depends on your preference more than anything.

If anything I'd consider CodD4 more tactical. I actually prefer less tactical games though, seeing as I hate having to deal with reality when I'd rather run around and destroy people a la UT3.

I really don't think CoD4 is much of a "pick up and play". Yes, if both people start playing at the same time it is, but then so is every other game. It does take some time to get used to all of the mechanics and what not in CoD4.

About the respawns... uh... no? It's called search and destroy which is vastly popular and my personal favorite. Infinity Ward also went as far as to make it the most viable way of ranking up. In Search and Destroy you don't respawn, but you're rewards are much greater for staying alive. Also when you respawn in different modes, it's never right in the middle of the action.

your only talking about cod 4 team deathmatch, your forgot to mention all the other game modes such as sabotage or search and destroy, all those are even more tactical that CS:S because of the detailed terrain of the map. If you were reading the past few posts, Cod4 is not something anyone can just jump into unless they want to have 0/14 k'd ratio

cod4 is great but honestly i gotta agree with you guys. i still prefer to play UO over cod 4, i love that game. been playing UO pretty much since it came out, great community and not so many grenade spammers now.

i think the reason why i didnt move on to cod2 or cod4 is because they dont have BASE ASSAULT!!!!!!

nothing like routing an entire panzer division and single handedly saving the russian front with mad suicide satchel attacks on enemy heavy tanks, for the motherland!

dude... i think you are over-egging it a bit. the hit locations arent that bad in cod4

i found that in cod 4 the realism is pretty good. i think most cod games have got the balance right on that front.

after all, how healthy would you feel after being shot in the chest?

its all down to personal preference thoughso yeah if you like cs better then play on

yes CoD4 is more realistic.
but seriously, who would actually want a realistic FPS?
1 shot in the chest you die, in the arm you cant shoot, in the leg you cant walk.
It wouldn't be fun.
